    Is it okay during induction?

    Hi Guitarman, ':wave'

My attitude during Induction was --- if it was listed on the Induction list, then I ate it. If it was not on the list I avoided it. Also, one of the things we want to break during induction all those cravings for sweets, and starting new habits. Sugar-Free stuff just perpetuates those sweet-needs.

Drink water instead, take a walk, read DANDR, do something else-----

well jello the generic term for all gelatin based desserts is accepable ifit is sweetened with Splenda Jello is currentkly noit Splenda sweetned so it is a no no. there are recipes in the database for making your own splend sweetened gelatin from scratch and using either unsweetened koolaide type powder, splenda swetened soda and Splenda sweetened syrups.

Just rememeber even in the menu section of chapter 18 induction (yep 2BIG knows that replusiver chapter exists) Dr Atkins only has dessert a few days out of the entire plan. "Desserts and sweets are occasional treats not every day events." Dr Robet C Atkins, DANDR

          Hi Guitarman, :wave

Sugar free Jello is made with aspartame - a known carcinogenic and stalls weight loss , avoid it.

Jolly Rancher makes sugar jello deserts/treats and they use Splenda.

My perspective is tough out Induction without it, the cup are tiny, all it will do is hit all the triggers that make you crave more sweets...is it worth it?

If you decide you have to have the Jello - go with the Jolly Rancher

You can also make your own with splenda and knox gelatin. I have made cafe latte, and it was okay, nothing exciting. Some folks use unsweeten koolaid for the flavor.
I believe that holding off until your out of the first 2 weeks of induction is probably the best idea, but after that, the only limit you have is your imagination and the acceptable list. It would make a great salad idea for a spring salad. Hummm I have to think about this.

not only do i eat sugar free jello but i also can eat the atkins ice cream bars (the one with nuts is great). The key for me is to keep doing the ketosticks and if you drop out of ketosis then figure out what it was that kicked you out and stop eating that.

I know that some people are affected differently by aspertame

A note to the newbies to Induction...ice cream bars are not legal on Induction, and can be added in, if you choose, on the Dairy Rung of OWL.
