  • Help me, please!! How did you deal with being tired??

ha I'm physically tired/feeling lazy. This is my 12th day in and for the past 3 days I've been like this. After Day 2 of my Induction, I was speeding all around doing everything, feeling great and in control, lots of energy. Has anyone dealt with this successfully? urplequ:

    Thanks

    Hi.

Are you doing everything Dr. Atkins advised you to do? Like are you taking multivitamin supplements?

Also review your vegetables. Are you one of those folks who only eat lettuce? If so, you need to vary that veggie menu. Lettuce is one of the least nutritious veggies on those lists. During Induction, lettuce never made up more than 25% of the veggies I ate---it still doesn't now I'm on OWL.

    Editing to add...
The other possibility is that you are really just tired and need a day to rest. So try doing that. Take it easy today and see if that helps your fatigue.

      Hi Nikki, :wave

Did someone forget she just quit smoking?

And the number one symptom of withdrawal?...Fatgue.

I've been having problems just lifting a pencil I feel this total body ache ~ it's your bodys response to being deprived of Nicotine and it passes.

You May still have a bit of induction flu, Dr. Atkins recommends vitamin B12 as an energy booster, get yourself a bottle of "Super Complex Vitamin B Supplements" make sure it has the word "Super" because these give you beyond your daily requirement of all the B vitamins which are great energy boosters.

In Dr, Atkins Vita Nutrient Solution - he also recommends Biotin (another vitamin B) Potassium, and one of the most important supplements you should consider taking is CoQ10

CoQ10 is pretty remarkable, it gives you lots of energy, it's a powerful antioxidant and helps your body burn fat at an increased rate.

      Hope this helps!

Dr Atkins says in DANDR if you are tired or fatigued you need to eat more and those are the only folk he says he tells to eat more food.

If you have just quit smoking your metabolism has slowed down too as nicotine is a stimulant in our bodies.

It could also be an electrolyte imbalance if you aren't choosing your veggies caefully and taking your supplements as needed. You can check if you are deficinet in any nutriant by looking at the reports section of your fitday if you use that free food journalling service.

          Are you exercising?
Even a 20 minute walk will help refresh you. Oddly enough, the days I feel tired heading out for my walk/run are the days I really benefit from it most.

I had the old book, so I just recieved my DANDR in the mail today, and I'm psyched. I also got up yesterday and went out for a 40 minute brisk walk and yep I feel much better. I do exercise but my machine isn't here and I'm waiting for it, so walking will have to do for now. But otherwise, I'm eating enough and everything else right. But, I did just stop drinking when I started Atkins. I drank a lot of beer (Kept them in the fridge). It could be I need more of the Vitamins like Peter suggested too. I will definitely get some of that Super stuff. I got a lot of reading to do=DANDR. I hope everybody to keep doing good and continue living happy.

Ahhh... might be out in left field but if your fatigue gets worse or doesn't get better have a Dr. check your thyroid. Like 2Big said the nicotine falsely elevates your metabolism. my smoking masked that I needed more thyroid meds. When I quit I crashed big time but it took me 2-3 months to figure it out.

I used to smoke years ago. But, drinking beer was my thing, and all of that yeast/ingredients is some nasty stuff too.

Make sure you take a good multivitamin. Although beer is the most nutritious of all alcoholic beverages (due to the yeast!), these beverages are still lacking in nutrients--that's why alcoholics are in a nutrient poor health state---the booze fills them up so they don't eat properly among other things.
