Hi,
Be really carefull about ham and other processed meats.
This was on a Sticky...
"**Processed meats, such as ham, bacon, pepperoni, salami, hot dogs and other luncheon meats and some fish may be cured with added sugar and will contribute carbs."
I was at the store looking for ham and I checked about 5 brands and
they ALL had sugar or Dextrose. Same as sugar. I am sure there is
a legal brand out there and will find it one day : )

A lot of lunch meats list fillers, such as sugar, yet the carb count is less then 1 gram per serving. At what point does it become an issue?PBK - M/45/6'3"

Honestly I think it becomes an issue as soon as sugar is involved. Not so much for the quantity than for the effects it can have on cravings etc! I have found NO prepackaged ham yet that had no sugar

It is best if you eat whole, unprocessed foods. However, there are people who are not negatively affected by eating some processed foods. It's a good idea to limit them if you do decide to include them in your diet. Keep an eye out to make sure they're not affecting your weight loss.
