So this water thing is really doing me in. I have drank 60oz with 40oz more to go and its really tough. I have been trying to take a shot of water everytime I go downstairs from those 8oz dixie cups and I think I am going to float away. My belly feels sooooo full. Maybe I should work my way up to drinking the necessary 120oz. I NEVER drank water before. In fact I didn't drink enough fluids period!!! What do you think can I start at 70 and work up from there?

    Re: Floating Away

70 might be too low, depending on your gender and weight. But it's better than nothing. One suggestion I would make is to stop the shots and carry around a big water bottle, only taking sips every few minutes. 2 or 3 of those go by pretty quickly. Also, make sure you start early. Having a cup or two of water in the morning makes it easier so you don't need to chug a lot later on.

Try drinking through a straw, too. Makes it seem like it's not as much.

      Re: Floating Away

I have tried the bottled thing and I feel overwhelmed with a bottle of water staring at me in the face. Thats why I have been trying the shot thing. I am a female and I weigh 300 (as of monday) so I need to drink 120oz (300/2 * .8=120) But I just need to work up to it.

        Re: Floating Away

I have got used to having a sports-top bottle with me at all times and sipping from it regularly. When I am at the computer I take a sip each time the screen refreshes and find myself refilling the bottle fairly quickly without really noticing I have drunk lots of water!

          Re: Floating Away

Yep, lots of little sips is definitely easier for me than trying to chug a shot or more. I understand about a big water bottle. I have a couple of littler ones (12 oz) so it feels like I am accomplishing something as I count them down during the day.

Starting at 70 is fine for now. Once you adjust it WILL get easier and easier to get the water in.
