okay today I'm down another 1/2 pd. Went to lunch with my husband. I had a side salad with ranch, a few grilled veggies and a 12oz ribeye. DELICIOUS!! Is it possible to eat too much even if it is all low/no carb? I'm thinking this could be why I have had bad luck in the past. One more thing, are the Advanedge low carb drinks a bad idea?

Re: another 1/2 pound
Yes. While Dr. Atkins wrote that we do not necessarily need to count calories, calories still matter. While lipolysis does offer a metabolic advantage compared to glucosis, this advantage is somewhere around 200-300 calories. If you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight no matter how many grams of carbohydrate you are consuming.Originally posted by peppersmom View PostIs it possible to eat too much even if it is all low/no carb?
Yes again. The Atkins shakes contain milk and/or soy, both of which are not on the list of foods acceptable during Induction. Re: another 1/2 pound
Since your food intake needs to be 5% carbs, (60% fat, 35% protein) Increasing your carb intake might skew your fat/protein numbers... Just make sure those 3 percentages are in alignment and you should be OK. Chances are after awhile you won't 'want' to eat that many calories anyway...

Re: another 1/2 pound
Thanks for the feedback folks!! I'm going to need all the help I can get! After the steak yesterday, I had tuna, mayo and cucumbers for dinner. A little puffy this morning and so I didn't have a loss. I'm discouraged, but today has been difficult with it being a rainy weekend and at home. Eggs for breakfast, 2 McDonald's grilled chicken breasts for lunch, pot roast and green beans for dinner. Just bought some old fashioned thick slice bacon and I might fry some for a snack. Let me know what you all think of how I doing this. Thanks!Peppersmon

Re: another 1/2 pound
Are the green beans your only veggie for the day? During induction, you are supposed to eat 3 cups of vegetables -- maximum 1 cup from the "Other Vegetables" list and the rest from the "Salad Vegetables" list.
Your foods seem legal, but I don't know whether you had enough fat, calories, etc. To check this, you can use Fitday, Dailyplate or some similar online tool.

Re: another 1/2 pound
Decided on cabbage instead of grean beans. I had a lettuce wrap with chicken and cheese for a snack. I am a little low on veggies today. I can slice up some cucumber to go with dinner tonight too I guess. As far as the water thing and being puffy, you're right, yesterday I didn't get as much water in. I am loving this site!! This is all so helpful.Peppersmon
