help please for a frustrated newbie!!!!!

  • help please for a frustrated newbie!!!!!

    Hello
    Im hoping you can help me, i started today and have a few questions ....also i have puta copy of todays menu on here can some of you guys have a look and tell me if im going in the right direction please ?????

    OK - Eggs.......can i have too many / not enough and do i need to count he carbs in them, if so how many please ?

    Im struggling for 'snack ideas' in between meals - savoury mainly as i dont really have a sweet tooth.

    Water - how much in 'UK' terminology should i be drinking each day ?

    Todays Menu :

    2 rashers unsmoked bacon with 1/2 cup mushrooms 1.2 carbs
    1 egg, 1 x tablespoon cream - 1 carb

    Lunch
    1 Cup iceburg lettuce - 0.2 c
    1/2 cup rocket - 0.2 c
    1/4 cup spring onion - 0.6 c
    1/2 cup cucumber - 1.0c
    1 x tomato - 4.3 c
    1 x tin tuna
    2 oz chedder cheese - 2c
    1 tblspn mayo - 1 c

    Dinner

    Beef Steak
    1/2 cuop mushrooms - 1.2 carb
    1 cup cauliflower - 1.9 c

    2 x eggs
    1 cup spinach - 0.4 c


    2 oz cheese - 2 carb.

    total 17 carbs - of which 11 comes from salad / veg.....

    Is this ok as i have been told i am eating too much salad / veg but i dont think i am ???

    PLEASE help me!!!!!

    You count the carbs in everything you eat and drink. You may eat as many eggs as you want. But be aware they do contain carbs and the majority of your daily carbs should come from vegetables.

    Ideally, your snacks (if you really need to eat them) should be a combination of fats/proteins/carbs. Dr. Atkins gives examples of snacks as a few olives, a slice of pot roast, etc.

    But again, you only eat the snacks if you are hungry. If you are not, don't eat.

    About 2 liters.

    The veggie amounts are 3 cups total per day. Either 3 cups from the "salad list" or 2 cups from the salad list and 1 cup from the "other list"

    It looks like you are eating 4 cups of vegetables plus how much else the tomato was.

    And don't forget, we subtract fiber grams because we only count "net carbs."

    There are over 50 vegetables on the lists. About 20 are on the "salad" list.

    Nutritionally, you might be better off excluding lettuce because it has little carbs and little nutrients.

      how do you get you 10-15 g from the salad / other then ??

        Why do you want to get 10-15 g from vegetables?

        As long as you are eating 3 cups of vegetables and most of your net carbs are coming from veggies, you are doing fine.

            Nope, you don't have to. I know there's something on atkins.com that says you should eat 12-15 g, but that's not how Dr. Atkins wrote the diet.
