I started Induction on March 13th, down 20 lbs. which I know is good but I have alot to loose so I am sure thats why the 20 lbs. I am still excited and plan on staying on Induction for awhile.

I started exercising yesterday, got me a Gazelle and I love it. My calves hurt and only doing 7 min 30 sec for now but I know I will get up to doing more, havent exercised in forever so it's a start. I am gonna do this. I have had my moments of hunger and just tell myself this is going to change my life.

I love fitday, putting my food in and planning my meals. I have problems with fat any suggestions would be great. I make my percentages work out and average 1200-1400 calories per day. Is this good? I get my 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of other veggies. Any help on Fat ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Debbie, congratulations on the great start and the great attitude!

If you are getting your fat percentages right, then you probably are doing fine without our suggestions!

The calories are a little low, but some of us need to keep ours lower due to slow metabolisms. If you have plenty of energy, you may be getting enough. If not, you might want to increase them.

You can add extra fat, if needed, by adding a little more salad dressing to your salads, eating celery with cream cheese, or adding a little more mayonnaise to deviled eggs, or dipping your veggies into a salad dressing dip.

I'm like you with low calories. I just can't seem to eat that much. I literally have to make myself eat because I'm not hungry on this type of "diet".

With fat, I just make sure I'm buying full fat everything! There are dressings that are made to have a very low carb count, about 1 carb per 2 tablespoon serving, buy those. They have a brand at Fry's/kroger and it's called Ken's.

Maybe add more fatty things to your breakfast, like bacon with lots of fat on it.

20 pounds is awesome! They say the more you have to lose, the more weight you'll lose in the beginning of any diet. Use that to your advantage to help motivate you!

Wow! 20 lbs down, congrats! Keep at it, you're doing great. Good for you for having that kind of determination.

As far as calories, I'm in the same boat. I wasn't a big eater to begin with, but the things I chose to eat were TERRIBLE. Now I'm hungry even less. I hope it doesn't slow my weight loss.

You should eat when hungry. If your body asks for food, it's a good idea to give it something to eat. As long as you eat only when you are hungry or have gone 6 hours without eating, and you do not overeat, you should not worry about calories.

For fat. Olive oil, eggs, cheese (cream cheese has more fat than, let's say, Swiss cheese), avocado, olives, heavy cream...

Congratulations for the 20 lbs lost. The number tells you that you have a low metabolic resistance, which means that your CCLL must be relatively high (good info for OWL).

I ate too many of the clouds today.. OMG after I had 1 I had to have 6. I threw the rest out, I think the Splenda made me crave I am not sure. I have been on Induction since March 13 and lost nearly 30 pounds. How bad is this gonna mess me up?
I know they are induction friendly but the Splenda is 3 servings a day. This is my first cheat and I am so depressed.. Hubby comes home and wants to know why I am soo upset then thinks its funny.. I feel so bad.

                Here is what I ate:

                CREAM CHEESE CLOUDS
                8 ounces cream cheese, softened
                1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2-3/4 cup granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda *
1/2 teaspoon vanilla or other flavoring

You are not the first member who has had problems limiting their consumption of this recipe

I remember a few years back when one member was extolling thier yummyness and posting the recipe all over the board we had many posts like yours

Maybe it is the combination of creaminess and sweetness that does it, as well as it being a large quantity to make and resist after the small amount you first intend to allow yourself.

Many people forget that with even using only 1/2 cup of splenda it does contain 12 servings of sweetener so only a 1/4 of those clouds the recipe makes are your maximum sweetener allowance for one day.

At least now you know that you need to watch yourself with them, so if you do decide to make them again perhaps make only one 1/4 of the recipe instead

                  And remember the quote
"Just because it is 'legal' for my Atkins phase doesn't mean I can have more than one portion of it."
I have been on Induction since March 13 and lost nearly 30 pounds. How bad is this gonna mess me up?
It will only mess you up if you allow it to As long as you get straight back to eating only induction foods you should be fine - though you might have terrible cravings for sweet foods for a few days
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Thank you for that post. I Love this site, anytime I am fighting a urge I click here and it walks me back off that ledge so to speak.
I enjoy eating this way and feel soo much better. I will never make those clouds again, well at least until Thanksgiving as a dessert they will be awesome but too tempting right now.

Thanks again for all the support from Everyone!!!!!

I can't stop myself with those either! I make half the recipe and make my husband hide the rest. They are too good! I think the sweet sets me off too. However, I can eat the creamy cinnamon buttons without issue.
