  • Reality Check

So I was driving to work this morning sitting in traffic and I almost wanted to start crying because I felt so horrible, I was just sitting there feeling all bloated and feeling a roll over my belt and it made me feel so crappy. I'm sick of feeling this way and having my weight and the way I feel about myself hold me back from doing things I want to do or wearing the kinds of things I want to, especially since spring and summer are almost here and I'm not going to be able to hide behind my jeans and hoodies anymore.

I honestly think I'm finally ready to change my woe and start a new healthier, happier life. This morning was really a reality check for me and I'm sick of feeling the way I do and am going to do something about it.

I'm starting Induction today and will weigh myself tomorrow morning to see what my starting weight is, I've been avoiding the scale for a while now because I'm afraid of what it's going to say.

    Re: Reality Check

I know exactly how you feel. I've been feeling that way for a while now, but never decided (I mean, really decided) to act on it. But I am ready now. I want this change, I want to go back to the person I was when I was happy and not self-conscious.

Don't be afraid of the scale, it is just a tool to get you to where you want to be anyway. The number it displays is just that - a number. And it's a number you can move up or down at will, if you're willing to do a bit of work.

    Start date: 03/14/09
    Goal #1 - 260 - Met 04/12/09! Goal #4 - 230 - Met 08/03/09!
    Goal #2 - 250 - Met 05/22/09! Goal #5 - 220 - Met 01/29/10 FINALLY!
    Goal #3 - 240 - Met 06/20/09! Goal #6 - 210

            Welcome back to induction, Chelsey

It sounds as if you have just had your 'Aha!' moment and are in the right mindset to start to become a loser
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                You're with losers here, spinky.
That's why we do Atkins -- it's cool being a loser.

                  Re: Reality Check

Thanks everyone! I've done this before and lost 13lbs but I ended up falling off the wagon and letting it all come back on but this time it just feels different, last time I think I was doing it more for a quick fix diet and now I realize that it really does have to be a life change in order for it to work and for me to be happy.
