  • Just sooo hugry - day 3 induction...

Hi guys. I am sooo hungry. I must be going through major sugar withdrawals. I have had all this today:

2 x eggs with mushroom & tomato (half cup total),
asparagus and dutch cheese wrapped in bacon
    piece steak
    3 x baked chicken drumsticks

and about 3 litres of water!

and Im starving!!!!! its only lunchtime, this is not right is it?? I am craving sugar, so am assuming that it is just a withdrawal sympton, but dont want to overeat the 'good' stuff either...

Keep at it, I was just refelcting today about how I don't have food cravings anymore. They will go away if you give it time. It might be tough but it's worth it, and really don't worry about overdoing it on the stuff you can eat. One thing the book states is that you are supposed to eat if you feel hungry, there is no reason to starve yourself. Just make sure it's an approved food.
I love to cook especially for other people, but it was always with the anticipation of getting to eat that food. Now I just enjoy taking my time and actually preparing and cooking. I think it's helped my cooking alot since I don't rush it anymore just so I can eat it. Instead of thinking all day about going home and eating dinner I think about going home and cooking dinner.

Hi I just started induction I'm on day 5 if I feel hungry I have been eating some Mozzarella cheese also if I have a piece of steak or chicken in the fridge I will snack on that or pork rinds. I think I'm going to make some deviled eggs to keep in the fridge too. Have something that you are allowed to eat...don't go hungry if you can help it. I also believe it will pass I don't really get very hungry.

Hey, I'm on my 5th day of Induction and I too had some major sugar cravings yesterday. I took 2 tbsp of cream cheese (4 carb) and 1 packet of splenda(1 carb) and mixed it together to have my very own CHEESECAKE! It ate with a spoon and it was delicious!!! Totally fulfilled the sugar crave and still allowed me to have my 15 carbs throughout the day from the veggies and cheeses. You should try that if you still crave the sugar!

Also, I agree with what was said above about not craving food anymore. I'm a big eater but starting yesterday I havent been hungry and I've been having to FORCE myself to eat actually. Other than the sugar crave last night, I haven't had any urges or cravings and I'm only on the 5th day. Give it some time and you'll be fine. Your body will self adjust and you won't 'need' those carbs and sugars so much anymore.

I eat the same exact thing for my sugar craving how funny. I also got into using the 100% pumpkin and putting butter, heavy cream and splenda. It's a recipe I saw somewhere on this site....so good.

grab a handful of radishes -- 11 radishes are 1 net carb - slice each radish into 3 or 4 slices....that's a lot of chewing for that little 1 carb .... 1 ounce of zucchini is .5 net carbs -- I can get 5 slices of zucchini out of 1 ounce. Make a couple chicken breasts and keep them in the refrigerator....take a portion of the chicken, dunk it into mayo and I know you won't be hungry anymore.

I dip my veggies into mayo, my meat into mayo and I am honestly never hungry - I haven't been for months and I plan to stay there.

                Good luck

Re: Just sooo hugry - day 3 induction...

I was soooo hungry for a few days into induction-maybe 4 or 5. Then things changed a bit.

Not that I recommend this, because it is not recommended on the plan- but yesterday was my 10th day of Induction, and I had eggs and broccoli for breakfast at 7:00am, coffee with cream at 10:30am, and then nothing until 11:30pm. I had a crazy day, and could have easily stopped for food at any point, but things were hectic. I was not hungry all day until I sat down for chicken salad at 11:30pm. Just an example, don't try this at home.

Thanks guys, yeah I wasn't actually really hungry, I think I was full but craving something sweet... I got through it, and yesterday was great, had a pork rasher for brekky, and a couple boiled eggs, then lunchtime we went out so i took a container with some salad and eggs, and when my kids and hubby sat down to eat their hot chips I ordered a piece of steak to have with my salad!

I will definately try the pumpkin, I love pumpkin and actually thought it was not allowed too, so was avoiding it. Thanks for all your support and advice!

P.S. This morning I was not hungry when I woke! I made myself have a little leftover roast lamb and salad with a touch of mayo. Happy Happy me
