Re: AFRAID to eat Calories!
We all eat like this on induction and we do not lower the calorie intake later. (correction: we don't lower carb intake, maybe calorie goes down if carb goes up, not sure)
Just do the induction without thinking too hard about it. The counting calorie thing must not have worked out that well because you're here, right? If you follow the program exactly as outlined, you'll lose. Give it two weeks!

Re: AFRAID to eat Calories!
yeah. That's actually a bit on the slow side for a guy, but the loss has been steady. Loss came a lot faster back when I was 20! (I'm 38 now)

Re: AFRAID to eat Calories!
I know how you feel! I've been calorie obsessed during my life (even when I wasn't heavy) but that is the great thing about low carb! You can eat often as you like, as long as you keep your carbs in the right amounts! Your calories are high now but wait til you've been on plan for a few days! If you are like me you have to remind yourself to eat lol. My appetite has decreased a LOT!

Re: AFRAID to eat Calories!
I have been on Atkins 2x, once in the late 90s and again now for the last month... and I always had more consistent weight loss when I kept the calories in the 1700-2200 a day range than if I went lower. I keep track of what I eat now in an iPhone app (Lose It!) and sometimes it's scary to hit 2000 calories, but for the last 3 days I did, and then today I had a 3lb loss from when I weighed 2 days ago. *shrugs*
You'll eventually figure out where you need to be. They say to not count calories, but I think there's really a potential to undereat, especially once you stop craving carbs and are hardly ever hungry. I like to make sure I've given myself enough "fuel" to sustain my brain while I make my bod smaller

Re: AFRAID to eat Calories!
Remember (and I forget whose signature line it is) that it is imperative that we do not count calories per se, but calories do count. That's why Dr. A always said to eat until satisfied or satiated...the body, especially once in ketosis, has a natural way of regulating itself in terms of its need for calories and when you are truly hungry (the cravings go away)...so I would really try to fixate on NOT counting calories overtly, but do keep a loose idea in your head to ensure that you're not under-nourishing your body.
