I cant get into salads, i have tried, but its just not my thing... And i hate eating something that i dont really like...

Right now i eat about 1.5 cups of fresh or cooked veggies,

Do you think i should keep it at 1.5 or add a little more because im not eating lettuce????

I'm not a salad girl, myself, so I eat my lettuce wrapped up in meat for some crunch, and nosh on a couple cherry tomatoes like little apples, etc. You can eat the induction-acceptable veg in other ways, so long as you are certain it follows the rules for induction according to chapter 11 of DANDR. :joy

Well thats the thing, Technically its not , because i should be eating 1 cup veggies and 2 cups lettuce (or 3 cups lettuce only) Right ??? So will eating more cooked veggies in place of the lettuce be bad or good.

I like your idea about the lettuce wraps, i could do that ...... Like a bunnless burger right ???

Salad is anything on the 'salad' list. So cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms, bok choy, celery, endive, etc. are all 'salad'. So you can eat 3 cups of lettuce, or 3 cups of mushrooms. Or make yourself a great stir fry from 1 cup each of pepper slices, mushrooms and bok choy.

All the veggies on the 'salad' list can be cooked, by the way. Cooking them gives them a more tender texture, and a milder flavor.

There's totally more than lettuce that qualifies for induction-salad-type veg for your 2 cups a day.

alfalfa sprouts, arugula, bok choy, celery, chives, cucumber, endive, jicama, mushrooms, peppers, radishes are just a few!

I nosh on celery and use lettuce as wraps, or in the center and use a thin slice of cheese as the wrap. I just ate some because I made myself hungry posting to you!

Just remember that the mushrooms cook down a lot, so you need to measure your portion when they're raw.

Hi there..well at first i wasn't a salad girl becuase i was so obsessed with startches and sugars. But when you have a limited list of what to eat, gotta do what ya gotta do. I suggest maybe adding some cheese on top of your salad (i usually put yellow cheese) and add some olive oil with it. Add some other veggies like carrots, mushrooms, etc and whatever other veggies you like. good luck! :wave

I also enjoy adding a diced hard boiled egg to my salad (made with baby spinach - very yummy) and maybe some cooked and diced up meat. Like crumbled sausage. Mmm, breakfast salad...
