  • Day 7 - week 1 induction - only lost 2 lb!

Hi, Well, I've managed to stick it out for this week - and have found it really hard, but I have been very hard-core. Only eaten, cheese, pure meats, leafy greens, mushrooms, 2 tomatoes, eggs, lettuces, some nuts for snack and 6 olives, and about 500000000 gallons of water (well, ok, that might be a bit of an exageration), and still only 2 lb weight loss! Have I done all this for 2 lb? Please tell me, week 2 of induction is where I might lose some more. I was 9 stone 2 lb, and would like to be about 8.5, is it because I don't have that much to lose? Please help, I am feeling very VERY dispondent. x

Hi dominy! I know it can be discouraging to not lose as much as you wanted to but it's always the last few that are the hardest. At your weight, 2 lbs. isn't bad at all. What you need is patience because you are losing, and that in itself is a victory! Think of it this way: losing 2 lbs. is better than gaining 2 lbs!

Just hang in there and it will happen. Don't give up!

You didn't give amounts in your food list but I would say it looks fine except for the nuts which aren't allowed until rung 3. So just keep at it and you will see a reward.

I am moving this into the induction forum for you.
just wanted to say that you are right on schedule. I don't know how tall you are but you are under 130 pounds right now. You want to lose less than 10 lbs. We cannot expect to lose more than 10% on induction. Hang in there. And yes double check the rules.

How much did you think you were going to lose in the first 7 days?

When you look at the other folks here who lost 10 or 15 pounds during Induction, they typically have 100 or more pounds to lose. So don't be discouraged with your first week's results. If you don't have alot to lose in the first place, you won't lose as much as someone with a 100 or 200 pound weight loss goal. Remember, you didn't gain your weight in 1 week, so it's not likely you will lose it all in 1 week.

By the way, nuts are not allowed during Induction phase. So you may want to drop those from your menu.

Thank you for your support! Will stick at it. I suppose I had read all the comments from people who had lost 10lb in the first week, and thought I would lose about 5! Will not have any more nuts. But could do with some ideas for snacks. Not cheese!

            Re: Day 7 - week 1 induction - only lost 2 lb!

i lost 10lbs my first week, and 4/5 of those came back the second week, and stuck around through the entire 2nd and 3rd week. it greatly depends how much you have to lose, people with more to lose will generally lose a bit faster. even though i lost those initial 10 and have a significant amount to lose, i'm in week 4 and am only just getting back down to 8. the first few weeks your bodys getting adjusted and your weight will fluctuate almost certainly. just keep doing what you're doing, and don't let the scale get you down.

Snacks are what you make of them. Really. It's that simple. If you're hungry for celery with creamcheese, eat it. If you're hungry for meat wrapped in lettuce w/a little mayo/mustard etc., eat it. If you want 5 big black olives, eat them. You just have to be open to what you want to eat and what you are choosing to eat.

              Cheers!
