  • taking your advice to be PREPARED

i'm in my second week of induction and i've had the unfortunate timing of (guys, cover your ears) having my period which has been making me feel hungry for the last two days. so, in my determination, i decided to prepare all kinds of things to have on hand so i don't eat a chair. i boiled a dozen eggs yesterday to slice over salads or have as a quick tide-me-over snack, and i took somebody's suggestion of cooking an entire chicken in the crockpot. i cooked it on high for about four hours, then down to low overnight, and the meat literally falls off the bones. i mashed the entire thing into one big chicken salad mixture with mayo and spices and will have enough for a number of days. i have lots of celery and cucumbers to go with it. stocked up on spices, dressing, cheesesticks, bacon bits from costco, and cream. even bought some liquid splenda on ebay. am i all-in, or what?

i also read the chapter on supplements and purchased some yesterday. i was having trouble finding a good multivitamin without iron, but found one in whole foods. i'm really thrilled because it has everything (!) in it. i also got CoQ10, L-carnitine, and chromium there. i already take neptune krill oil and probiotics (from mercola.com) so i'm supplemented-out now!

i'm doing the weigh, no way challenge so no weighing until sunday morning, but here's hoping i have a couple pounds to add to the nine-pound loss so far!

i want to say thanks to so many of you who are so kind and encouraging and helpful on the board. everyone's participation makes it feel like we're all in this together and that it's actually possible to do this. i'm very grateful.

That is what I call planning for success!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Great job! You're so wise. I'm thinking eating the chair would only add more fiber to your daily diet...but that's probably more than you need
