    Right.

    At the end of week 1 in induction and i lost 6lb............

    im now coming to end of week 2 on Sunday and i really dont feel like i have lost anything.......( cant check yet as im doing the weigh, no way challenge!!)

    I must say tho i have never felt so not-bloated, but im really struggling to be 'regular' despite taking taking my psyllium husks.......im having to take laxative every 3 days at the mo.

    i think maybe my water intake this week hasnt beens good as last week - im drinking about 2 litres a day - i was drinking upto 4 litresa daylast week......

    any advice would be greatly apprieciated .

    Well the water might be keeping you blocked up...maybe lay off the psyllium husks and up your water intake? That might help?

        I'm not sure I understand your question. What aren't you sure if it's supposed to happen -- feel like you haven't lost anything or be constipated?

        If it's the former, then I guess it's normal. Most folks lose less in their second week. Tomorrow morning you'll find out how much you've actually lost.

        If it's the latter... Keep taking the psyllium husks, but take them with a lot of water. If you don't drink enough water with them, you'll only make the problem worse! If psyllium husks, flaxseed meal or wheat bran don't help, you should try a stool softener instead of laxatives.

        Are you eating your three cups of vegetables? Choosing vegetables higher in dietary fiber will help too.

          Sorry Georgiana......my original question was about the possibilitythat i wont have lost in my 2nd week but i got carried away on a tangent!!!!

          Im really hoping i do lose something but is there any reason why i wouldnt have done? I have been strict on induction and followed the book exactly and planned my meals on fit dayand tried to get as close as i could each day to the 65/30/5 %'s.......

          Im eating my 3 cups of veges a day religiously and normally have 'half cups' of vegs so i can get some variation as i was a die hard vege lover befire i started Atkins.

          Im thinking about reducing my cheese as i only have the allowed 4 oz but i do have this every day so might cut that back to 2 as some of the threads have said that can cause retention.

          I weigh EVERYTHING at the mo to make sure im not going over.....

          Just wondered if there was any advice / comment that i guess culd re-assure me im just normal!!!!!!

            lol. I think you're normal, just impatient about tomorrow's weigh in.

            Cheese slows down weight loss for some people and, eaten in excess, can lead to constipation.

            But even if you have lost nothing this week, 6 lbs is over 13% of the weight you want to lose. The average weight loss during Induction is 5-10%, so you seem to be doing great.

              i think your right about being impatient!!!! its been a real test not to jumpon the scales this week.....

              I never thoughtabout it as 13% of what i want to lose - makesme feel a bit better!!!

                I was having trouble being regular even though i was taking flax every morning. turns out working out a lot is all i needed, i dont even need flax anymore, its like clockwork.

                  Weight loss after the first week can be rather variable I think... in my case, I lost 9lbs the first 10 days, only 2 the next 10, and then 4 in 2 days! It's unpredictable.

                    don't worry, steffie, i have a feeling it's going to work out like everyone said. i keep reading this, as i'm a newbie too: weight loss is not linear. so i guess if we expect that it will bounce around, then we won't be disappointed when it does. just remember, you're moving in the right direction, right?
