  • can you please just check my diet plan :)

    hi everyone, i just wanna check that what i'm eating is ok.

    basically on an average day i'll have something like this:

    some grilled beef for breakfast
    some chicken with olive oil,and a cup of veg around lunch
    i'll probably have some more chicken with olive oil in the afternoon
    then for dinner i'll have anything from a couple of pork chops with one egg, or beef with a slice of two of cheddar cheese,or more chicken with olive oil. again any of these meals will be with a little veg.

    i'm still in induction phase.is my diet ok??

    all i'm drinking is water throughout the day.probably about 10 to 15 glasses,depending on my thirst.

    and that is it. i have absolutely nothing else.i dont wanna take any chances of ruining it.so i have no teas,no sugar free sweets or gum,ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I HAVE JUST WRITTEN.

    so am i doing everything right??

    Good for you, Jane! Sugar free sweets are not sugar free at all -- they have artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols. I also avoid them as much as I can.

    Your menu looks okay to me, although you don't write quantities. Are you getting 3 cups of vegetables? Other than that you seem to be eating enough fat and you only have "legal" foods there.

      yay ok cool. yeah i am having about 3 cups a day of veg.sometimes only 2 and sometimes 3.depeends what veg i'm eating because i get scared i'm gonna go over 20g carbs,so i tend to be safe with my portions during the induction stage

      oh i do also sometimes eat sardines or tuna.but not very often,maybe 3 times in the week.i prefer chicken hehehehehe

        Three cups of veggies from the Induction list cannot put you over 20 g net carbs, no matter which vegetables you choose. You are counting net carbs, right?

        Vegetables will give you fiber, vitamins and minerals. Eating those three cups is very important not only for your weight loss, but also for your health. You should have maximum 1 cup from the "Other Vegetables" list and the rest from the "Salad Vegetables" list. Here are the lists: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html

            Are you in the UK or in the US? In the UK, the carbs listed on the label are net carbs. In the US they are total carbs, so you have to subtract the dietary fiber from them to get the net carbs.

            If you are using FitDay or DailyPlate, the carbs listed there are total carbs, so you have to do the math.

              i'm in the uk. so does that mean that the carbs that are listed are what i have to pay attention to?

                Yes, the carbs listed on the label as "Carbohydrate" are those you have to pay attention to.
