  • flavoured water??

can i drink flavoured water (volvic touch of fruit)? it has: sucrolose and aspartame in it.

i'm just dying for a sweet fresh taste of some sort.
i'm still on induction...day 9 almost over hip hip hourrayyyy lol.

i keep hearing about this splenda stuff.but i cant find it anywhere.besides that wouldnt be much use to me seeing i'm not drinking any teas or anything that would need sweetning.
its just the flavoured water i want lol

if i cant...could anyone suggest anything similar that i can get here in the UK?

thanx guys...luv ya all lol hehehe

Aspartame should be avoided whenever possible as it may trigger cravings and stall your weight loss.

I'm positive you can find sucralose (Splenda) in the UK.

That's exactly why you should not have anything sweet. Use Induction to get rid of your sweet cravings; it will help you a lot in the long term.

Decaf tea, water with some lemon juice or cucumber, heavy cream mixed with a little water. Of course, you should not count the cream or the tea towards your water intake though.

I think the double cream you have in the UK has a slightly different fat percentage than the heavy cream one finds in the US, but both are allowed. I never tried that myself, but I read of others on the Board who did. For me it didn't sound too tasty, so I preferred to wait until OWL Rung 2 and have real milk.

My bad here. They have the same fat percentage.

                  Hi Superjane

You can buy Splenda in most Tescos stores - it is with the sugar, in a yellow rectangular tub. I think it is in other supermarkets as well.

Why not try a squirt of lemon or lime juice, or a slice of lemon or lime occasionally in your water? (You do need to count/limit the juice - I can't remember exactly how much, but it is in the book) I do that sometimes when I just want a bit more 'taste.' Having said that I agree with Georgiana that it is important to curb that sweet tooth - I do find I actually enjoy the taste of water now, which I never did before Atkins. I also find if I do add a bit of sweetener to something such as a dessert or the mock danish, that I don't like the taste to be as sweet as I used to - things actually taste 'too sweet' now.

tescos? ok great,i'll check it out fankyou
i must admit i used to HATE water, but since starting atkins and forcing myself to drink it,i dont mind it now.

oooh actually maybe i could try lemon juice and some of that splenda stuff in water. i know what you're both saying about trying to avoid sweet taste to rid cravings, but it'll only be when i really cant hack anymore water.

                    thanx girls
