Whether you move to OWL or not is your personal choice. Dr. Atkins wrote that only those who are metabolically resistant or have a lot to lose can benefit from doing Induction for more than two weeks. However, most folks see a decrease in their weight loss rate (compared to the first week of Induction, for example) regardless of whether they stay on Induction or move to OWL.
Am i right in thinking i can carry on induction but now i get to eat nuts as well?
No. OWL is a very structured part of Atkins -- it is divided into nine "rungs", each corresponding to a certain group of foods. Nuts only come on OWL Rung 3. Before nuts, you will introduce more vegetables and diary.
Reading the book would help you a lot in following this diet correctly. There are also some sticky threads in the Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) forum, explaining how one should do OWL.
