You can find unflavored gelatin in almost any grocery store.

All you really need is gelatin, sweetener, a flavor of your choice and water. Here's a recipe: Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

An envelope of gelatin is one packet. It looks something like this:

            NO CARB JELLO
            2 packets unflavored gelatin
            1/2 cup cold water
            2 cups boiling water
1 package unsweetened Kool-Aid, any flavor
Liquid Splenda to equal 1 cup sugar *
1 1/2 cups cold water or ice cubes **

Put the 1/2 cup cold water in a large bowl or 8-cup measuring cup. Sprinkle the gelatin over the water and let stand about 5 minutes to soften. Meanwhile, bring 2 cups water to a boil. Bring the gelatin/water mixture just to a simmer in the microwave then stir in the boiling water; stir until the gelatin has dissolved completely. Stir in the Kool-aid and Splenda. Stir in the remaining 1 1/2 cups cold water or ice. If using ice cubes, add enough to bring the level of the liquid up to 4 cups. Stir until the ice has almost completely melted, removing any unmelted ice. Pour into 8 dessert dishes and chill until set.

            Makes 8 half-cup servings
            Do not freeze

                Re: question two. geletin

You could use the granulated splenda or the packets if you don't have the liquid. The reason many people like the liquid is that it has no carbs, unlike the granulated splenda.

There are various brands of liquid sucralose (splenda is just one brand) available in USA. One is called Sweetzfree, another is called Quick Sweet - a google search should find them easily.

sugar free jello is made with aspartame -- we are advised to stay away from aspartame and use Splenda instead.

I did the hidden carb counter and got 1.7 (Jell-o brand single servings).

Why is aspartame bad? So far I've had it in gum, jell-o and crystal lite and it doesn't seem to be affecting my weight loss so far (7 pounds in 9 days). Should I not have crystal lite, too?

Dr. Atkins suggested staying away from aspertame (including gum & crystal light) because it stalls some people.
