  • does anyone else feel as bad as me

i am a newbie that would like to say a big hello to everybody.

5 years ago I was on the atkins diet for about 3 months and lost 2 stone. I am now on day3 of the induction and I feel totally drained. I don’t remember feeling this bad when I first attempted this diet.

Is there anyone else feeling this way or does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could eat to help give me some energy?

You are most likely experiencing induction flu. Stick with it, you will feel better in a day or so.

It's pretty widely believed that after the first attempt, redoing Atkins gets harder and is a little slower (either due to age or something with the body becoming resistant to low-carbing). You should check out the Second Time Around Club to join us in working through this for the second (or third) and FINAL time!

The only thing that I could personaly tell you was that The same thing happened to me. I am on day five on induction and for the first two days I felt as sick as a dog. Just as everyone else says, drink lots of water, by doing this you are releasing all the bad toxins out of your body that make the fat stay. Another thing to check is if you are eating the right amount as calories as well, Above a thousand at least.

Re: does anyone else feel as bad as me

When I went through induction and felt the way you are feeling I started drinking mass quantities of water (I still drink 150 oz a day) and had meat (chicken, turkey, beef, pork whatever you have) dipped in mayo several times a day -- it really helped me. The feeling will pass in a couple days.

Re: does anyone else feel as bad as me

I am sorry that I don't have any suggestions. But I can say that I might have written your post! This is my 2nd time on this WOE and this time has been much harder through induction. Day 3 to 7 were horrible for me. Headache, nausea, fatigue. My arms still feel like they weigh a ton (washing my hair is hard), but I am feeling totally better. I know that I had a hard-time stopping my carb and caffeine withdrawal. Good luck!

Re: does anyone else feel as bad as me

I felt that way too for a good 5 to 6 days. I was sooo exhausted, felt weak, jittery. My husband said "What is wrong with you? You haven't looked that bad since you had your kidney stone." Wow, I guess I looked as bad as I felt. I'm almost at the end of my 14 days now and I feel so much better! It will pass....

Re: does anyone else feel as bad as me

I am on day 8 and I don't think it was that bad for me (2nd time around also). I normally drink water, but i decided to up the amount of water I drank because it helps to keep you feeling full. And I continued to exercise at the gym 4 days a week (vigorous).
