Hi and welcome to the board. I am no expert, but I do seem to be getting the hang of things. There are alot of educated people on here that will surely help you out in any way. Just find a busy thread, and put your questions and whatnot out there. you will get lots of advice. I lost my first 18 lbs. in the first 30 days , inductuion phase. I am over 40 and past menopause, so it should be metabolicly harder for me to loose. I think attitude has everything to do with it. BELIEVE in yourself and the choice you made to try Atkins. Reread the book often. you will glean something new every time you do. It can help you in endless ways. how to get things moving a little faster, and how to bust a stall, its all in there. Also.... you do know that once you go off the diet and go back to your old eating habits , you will more than likely find yourself back here. These new WOE and habits need to go further than your goal weight, if you want to maintain.

Was that real milk ? I'm not sure , but i don't think that the flax muffin would be legal in induction. how many veggies are you eating? There is a size limit. Go buy some sugar free metamucil or something simular, there are several brands, but this is something i HAVE to do religiously. It makes a huge difference.

Anyway good luck to you and i'll see ya on here , i'm sure. Many more losses to you .

That's almost a pound and a half per day. Unless you have an enormous amount to lose, it is simply impossible to lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks. But if you follow Atkins correctly, you will be slimmer in two weeks than you are now.

I have just managed 5 pounds in 10 days and am super sad...
During Induction, one usually loses 5-10% of the weight they need to lose. So if you lose 5 lbs in two weeks of Induction and have 50-100 lbs to lose, you are right in the 5-10% range.

To lose 20 lbs in less than two weeks of Induction, you should have 200-400 lbs to lose.

I like a cup of coffee in the eveing with a little milk
Milk is not allowed during Induction. You can use cream instead.

            and a muffin(flaxmeal with cocoa,splenda,walnut,egg,olive oil)
Walnuts are not "legal" during Induction.

and about 1 litre of club soda with splenda lemonade.
Sweeteners are limited to 3 servings per day and you should count 8 oz of sweetened drink as 1 serving of sweetener.

and some fresh cream with spelnda-i have a sweet tooth and cant help
That's exactly why you should use Induction to break your addiction to sweets.

            I have constipation prob
Try flaxseed meal, psyllium husks or wheat bran.

and wondering if 0 carb can help with this weight loss ..
You mean, eat only meat and fats? I am asking because not so long ago you wrote:

So you already know you have to eat your veggies.

            Are you exercising?

Since this is an Induction question, I have moved this thread to the Atkins Diet 14-day Induction forum.

I know its wrong, but i am n such super pressure and confused that i feel maybe I shud take this risk again..I am in mental turmoil and its like end of world to me..I am pretty disturn currentlly to think whats right or wrong..so this time in Atkins I was trying all the goodies with veges etc and when the result in a week is not the same, I thought I shud try meat and fat, which is though scary..
                is flaxmeal the culprit

The culprit for what? Your weight loss rate is excellent and way above the average (5-10% is the average, while you have lost 20%).

As to whether flax can slow down your weight loss, it depends... Different people react differently to it. I never had a problem eating flax.

What exactly will happen if you don't lose 20 lbs in the next two weeks?

I am pretty disturn currentlly to think whats right or wrong..so this time in Atkins I was trying all the goodies with veges etc and when the result in a week is not the same, I thought I shud try meat and fat, which is though scary..
I think you need to calm down, step back and think what's more important for you -- your overall health or being 140 lbs by your anniversary. Besides, nothing guarantees you that by eating only meat and fat you will hit 140 lbs by April 24th anyway, because your weight loss could have slowed down for reasons other than eating 3 cups of vegetables. Here's how it works. When you are eating a carbohydrate-based diet, as you probably did before starting Atkins, glucose (sugar) triggers the release of insulin, which further stimulates the production of glycogen. This glycogen is then stored in the liver and muscles. For hours after a meal, magic happens and your body uses glycogen stored in the liver to generate energy. Since you keep taking a lot of carbohydrates in with your every meal, there will always be a significant amount of glycogen stored in the liver. When you switch to a diet low in carbohydrates, these glycogen stores will be depleted in the first few days and you will lose water weight, thus experiencing a "whooshie". So most of those 14 lbs you lose in the first week were probably water, not fat. Now that your body hasn't got any more water to lose, you are mostly losing fat. Fat, unlike water, is not so easy to get rid of. You know when you weigh more because you ate something salty the previous day? It takes only a few days (and many gallons of water) to lose that water weight, but after those few days you are back to your initial weight. Things are different with fat, or otherwise everyone would be able to lose 5 lbs in a few days, regardless of how much they weighed.

Bottom line is, your weight loss slowed down not because you started eating vegetables, but because you are now losing more fat than water. This is a good thing, because losing fat is what makes one look better, not losing a few lbs of water.

You're doing great. Just take out the milk and the walnuts from your menu and cut down on sweeteners. After you finish your 2-week Induction, move to OWL, slowly increase your carbohydrate intake and start having more vegetables, diary, nuts, berries, etc. Do not do Induction until you reach your goal, because this is how most people fail -- they reach their goal weight while still on Induction and then they add all the foods back not knowing what triggers cravings or what their CCLM (Critical Carbohydrate Level for Maintenance) is. As you can guess, most of these people are not able to maintain their loss.

So do yourself a favor -- move to OWL, add back foods while you are still in ketosis and have the advantage of appetite suppresion, and stop looking for a quick fix for weight loss. It's not worth wasting the time and energy you put into losing weight to then ruin everything and go right back to the start line.

The vegetables on the list of foods acceptable during Induction are yin foods. Off the top of my head... cucumber, celery, broccoli, asparagus, cabbage, spinach, tomatoes...

During OWL you are allowed to eat more of these vegetables, which should help.

Parul, I seriously doubt many people on this board are familiar with yin foods. I would suggest consulting a Chinese medicine healer and then discuss the allowed foods for induction with him or her and see which of these would fall into the yin category. Most people in the West do not use the principles of yin and yang (cooling and heating)in choosing foods.

                            Great news

Are you seeing any changes in your measurements?

Atkins is wellknown for allowing people to lose fat even when their scales weight does not change or even goes up.

We have had members who lost no weight in a period of time but dropped dress sizes
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
