    Hey everyone, this this is my second week of induction and i use ketone strips to test if i am in ketosis. I have been in ketosis everday and today after lunch i tested for it and the stick was purple (not dark but medium purple) and then after dinner i tested for ketosis and i wasn't in it... It's really werid im not sure why that happened. The only thing i had between the times i tested was mozz string cheese and for dinner i had black angus steak. Can anyone offer me and explantion for this?

    save your money and put the sticks up all they tell you is if your body at the time thaturine was being mad had excess ketones not being burned ofr energy in yoiur blood stream and they spilled out into your urine you can be very much in ketosis and not show any color on your sticks. Read the stickie in the FAQ on stix and you will understand better.

      Bingo!! What KGold said, I was all into doing the keto-sticks all the time, but I would realize some days it would be positive, then later it would be neg. But I still followed my plan, and I lost weight no mtter what the sticks said.....I do them right after I started induction back, and maybe I do them every week....Also the 1st am void is the most concentrated, and is more reliable than later in the day

        Atkins breakfast bars...

        Ok, I've been in a chat with a colleague of mine who is also doing Atkins (induction) and she claims that the breakfast bars are ok during Induction, but only once every couple of days. I'm trying to convince her it's not..any help? ha

          breakfast bars on induction?

          Tell your friend to look at the list of ingredients on the packet and make sure that everything on the list is also on the list of Acceptable foods for induction.
          So if it lists 'wheat' it isnt OK for induction but can be used (if it doesnt upset your body) when on the Grain rung of OWL; if it has berries listed then it could be eaten on the Berries Rung as long as it didn't have wheat or soy products in it; if it did have all three listed then it could not be eaten till you had moved through the berries and legumes rung and were on the grain rung.
