  • induction/atkins friendly drink

Atkineers i wanted to share a south asian lemonade recipe with everyone here who is looking for something different. I personally luv this drink because my mom use to always give us this drink during HOT summers after we use to come home from playground/parks.

    Here is the recipe
*1 glass of water fill half with crushed Ice

    * Squeeze one fresh large lemon into the glass of water

    * add one packet of splenda and taste to see if its sweet enough for you (for me one packet does the job)

    * add two pinch of regular salt

    * add two to three pinch of BLACK SALT (its a south asian spice/indian and its low in sodium and this is the main ingredient that gives an awsome taste (Black salt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

mix it all AND ENJOY this delicious drink specially in summer! I hope you guys like it

Sounds like a great tasting refreshing drink

You would have to be careful not to overdo the lemon juice on induction (and on OWL till you reach rung/level 7) as our daily limit for lemon juice is only a few tablespoons and could affect your weightloss efforts.
    Special Category Foods
To add variety, each day you can also eat ten to twenty olives, half a small avocado, one ounce of sour cream or three ounces of unsweetened heavy cream, as well as two to three tablespoons of lemon juice or lime juice. But be aware that these foods occasionally slow down weight loss in some people, and may need to be avoided in the first two weeks. If you seem to be losing slowly, moderate your intake of these foods.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

It really depends how much juice you can squeeze out of that lemon.
According to FitDay, the juice from one medium lemon has 3.9 net carbs. Two tablespoons have 2.5 net carbs. Three have 3.7 net carbs.

You have to count these carbs towards your daily total, so you need to know how much lemon juice you are using. Squeeze the lemon into a different container, measure how much juice you get and then make sure you're not using more than 2-3 tbsp.
