  • EEEK darn stupid little hidden sugars...my question...

Ok here I am looking through label trying to go clean but I found one product I looked over but missed the little wrectched word "corn syrup" I ended up launching that thing out the door literally....I looked at it before but for some reason it didn't click. I am learning to watch these labels a few days ago I foudn one with a Trans fat in it, it got the same punishment as the other one....

    My question:

Say in the ingredient list down like 7 or 8 items down you find like sugar or syrup of some kind yet it has 0 carbs, I still count it as one carb per serving to be on the safe side, but does that take you out of a clean induction? If so I'm gonna start this thing over again. I just want a 2 week clean induction! What impact on glucose does those little hidden sugars do? Possibly cause a small spike?

The first time I did atkins it wasn't clean I cheated but still worked, this time Im trying a clean and I have emmense energy to the point I don't wanna sleep, just going 90 mph doing stuff...so far I have lost 12 pounds and the ketosticks are pinkish-purple depending on how much water I had.

today my dad tossed me a seasoning he said I could have that he liked and thought I should try it I looked at the label and tossed it back, I was like fourth itme dad no thanks, he said its nt much it won't hurt you...those are the most dreaded words you can ever hear!!!

Hi, the ingredients are listed in the decreasing order. So the ingredients list is 15 items long and sugar is number 14, it's not in as large amount as whatever is ingredient number 2.

I would still count the carbs as 1. Why? Because the labelling laws in the US are pretty non-existent for carbs. Anything with a carb of 0 to 0.499999999999999999999 can be labelled as "0" carbs. Anything with a carb of 0.5 to 0.9999999999999999999999999 can be labelled as "less than one carb" or (as I've seen) 0 net carbs.

It doesn't sound like these make a difference and that's probably true if you limit yourself to the one serving listed on the label. But if you eat 4 servings, you can be eating anywhere from 2 to 4 carbs, which can make a difference.

What are these products you are wanting to have? Can we help you find a substitute that you don't have to be concerned about?
