  • 11th Day "Newbie"

This is my 11th day on Induction and my first post on this awesome site (although I have been lurking for quite some time). I feel so great, like nothing is impossible. Even besides my new attitude (read lack of depression about my life) I'm actually excited about cooking for myself. For the first time in my life I'm enjoying what I eat.

I've lost 9 lbs. but think that I will stay on Induction another week or so - had a slip over Easter weekend. My family kept saying, "Oh, but it's Easter. Surely you can have one little bite." Gained 5lbs, back - definitely wasn't worth it, but I learned a good lesson. Will put off OWL also because I have a wedding to go to in June that I would like to reach my mini-goal of 170lbs before. Is there any reason that I should be leery of this plan of action?

If you are satisfied with your food choices, then there is no problem with you staying on induction longer. But, if you become bored..which can often make us tempted to cheat, I suggest moving on to OWL after finishing your 14 day induction.

        Hello Mykodi :wave
Glad to hear you are doing so well so far :joy
After your 14 days on induction take some time to read the sticky at the top of this forum about making the decision to move on to OWL or to extend your induction.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

          Hi mykodi,
I think the dangerous thing about staying in induction to lose most of the weight is the boredom of lack of variety can cause you to cheat or give up the diet for a while. But, if you feel that you have very strong willpower and can withstand months of the same food, you may be able to stay in induction.
Since you have till June you may be able to add a few OWL things and still lose the weight you want. Plus exercize can really help slim you down! Hope this helps!

It all depends on your culinary creativity as well. I stayed on Induction for around 5 months and the only reason I moved on was because I wanted more veggies, and the first rung of OWL is more veggies.

I like a lot of variety in my meals, and bf and I have never felt bored, deprived or limited. It's like the Acceptable Foods list is a pile of puzzle pieces, and you can put them together any way you want. :yes
