    The amount of weight one loses depends on many things like age, sex, starting weight, degree of metabolic resistance, exercise routine, etc.

    A typical weight loss during Induction (i.e. at the end of the 14 days) is between 5 and 10% of the weight you have to lose. So if you have 100 lbs to lose, you can expect something in the 5-10 lbs range. If you have 50 lbs to lose, then something like 2-5 lbs is more realistic.

      Happy starting.
      I started before I had bought my scale (I have always hated scales but thought I would need one to see if Atkins really worked ) And I did not start very cleanly. I did not have the book. But I found this board after a couple of days and did manage to clean things up. Anyways so here is what I know. When I weighed myself after a couple days on Atkins I weighed 165. Six days later I had lost 6 lbs.

      May Challenges 2010
      Push-ups: 450/800
      Abs: 850/1900
      Squats: 650/1200
      Lunges: 500/1000
      Strength: 490/1200
      Running: 50/100 km


      2 Years on Atkins.................. President Challenge Medals earned

        I started 5 days ago and am down 3 lbs.
