  • Just a quick question before I start.

    So I have finished the book, or most of it and I am starting the process tomorrow. But I was looking through the tread and found this quote:
    "The total carbs listed in most International and European labels are Net Carbs no further subtraction necessary."
    I was just wondering if this is true due to the fact I live in Europe (Holland) and don't want to miscount the carbs.

    Yes, that's right. The carbs listed on the labels here are usually net carbs. Fiber, if listed at all, is listed separately.

    A way to figure this out is to see if the major nutrients add up. 1 g of fat has 9 calories, while 1 g of carbohydrate or protein has 4 calories. If you do the math and get the calories listed on the label (or well, close to that since some numbers are rounded), then the carbs listed are total carbs. However, if you do the math and get less calories than what you have on the label, then the carbs listed are net carbs.
