  • Day 7 of 14 on Induction

My SIL came for a two week visit in March. When she left on March 25th, I weighed 170 (I'm 5'2")! I actually started Atkins that day - but didn't commit to the program and Induction until April 13. A couple things happened during that time period. From March 25th to April 7th I went down 6lbs. Then we had our golf tournament and I won my section. I partied a bit that day and 2 days later I was back up to 168. I immediately went back on Induction but still didn't declare my intent. Last Monday, April 13th, I finally decided that I would commit to doing Atkins, following Dr. Atkins 2002 DANDR. This morning I weighed 160 and I am in trace ketosis.

In actuality I've been on Induction now for 2 weeks, but I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing for the next week. If my weight loss slows down, I'll move on to OWL - but as long as I'm losing a lb. or two every couple days, I'll stay on Induction. Is that a good move? I'd like to weigh around 135 and I don't have a time frame - just whatever my body is willing to give up on a pretty regular basis!

Wow that is nice progress. Looks like it is really working for you.
I suggest not waiting too long to move to OWL. There is not going to be too much of an advantage for you to stay there and you may risk a burn out. OWL is a process of education to help you keep of the pounds on the long run and if you want to be successful you have to go there. First rung is just more vegetables and you can take it slow if you want to.
