  • 5 weeks till Vegas

    Im going to Vegas with friends in 5 weeks and I need to get serious! I have been on and off of weight watchers for the last year and have lost 20lbs... however I am eating too much processed junk and haven't lost any weight in a long time. I work out 6 days a week (P90X and turbo jam) and lift weights 3 times a week. I am hoping that Atkins is really gonna help me drop at least 10lbs before vacation! Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

    10 lbs in 5 weeks? no problem... How much do you weigh?

      I have been taking steriods for swollen lymph nodes related to a sinus infection and they have made me gain a few pounds.... i weighed in at 172, which is 5lbs up from where i was a few days ago-167. Im hoping to drop that quickly cuz im pretty sure its just water weight.

      I started atkins this morning- 2 egg beaters with cheddar cheese! 3 carbs so far! And the best part is that I made them in butter! I haven't cooked with butter in forever. The egg beaters have one carb per serving, is that pretty much true of real eggs too?

        I hope you can do it but once you get close to your ideal weight (and especially if you really want to be a skinny Minny) then it is not going to be super fast. But I think eating healthy can only help. Eggs have carbs yes. About 0.6 per egg. You're eating egg beaters with yolks?

          Yes, real eggs have about ~.7 carb each... Much better to eat real eggs, and don't skimp on the carbs, it won't make you lose any faster...

          Have you read Dr Atkins book? It really makes a difference in your success with the diet...

            Im eating the egg beaters with yolks... I will switch to real eggs once I use up the beaters... i didnt want to waste them.

            I read the book years ago. I actually tried atkins about 5years ago but i did it all wrong! I ate as much cheese as I wanted, drank diet cokes all day, never exercised, and gobbled up all the "low carb" products i could find! Somehow I still managed to lose a few pounds. Im doing it right this time!
