  • I'm new and I need HELP!!!

Hello to all I've been reading the board for quite sometime and I decided that today I was gonna start. Well at least I thought I did, ok for breakfast this morning I had 2 boiled eggs, lunch I had a low carb Cracker Barrell bacon cheese burger, and dinner I had a toss salad w/ ranch dressing and 2 ground beef patties w/ and water all day. Now the thing is I don't think I'm doing it right because I don't know how much veggies I am actually suppose to eat. Plus please tell me how many times do I suppose to eat through out the day, today I ate 3 and right now I full STUFFed and I hate that feeling! Somebody please help me!

You can eat as often as you like - but don't go more than 6 waking hours without eating. 2 cups "salad" veggies, 1 cup "other". Check the "sticky" posts at the top of the forums - there's a lot of info there on what the 'rules' are. You could also read the book. Around here, we go by 'Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 ed). DANDR for short.

Congrats on taking the leap...we're all in this together.

You'll have to eyeball it. I don't think there's a better way to do it.

1 cup of lettuce is about the size of a tennis ball...

Most salads in restaurants have between 2-4 cups of lettuce not including the other things that they put on them...

Someone recently posted a website link that showed photos of what a cup or half cup of various foods looked like. I shall look for the link and repost it here when I find it.
