Carli - if you are on your 14 days induction why are you eating almonds?
No nuts or seeds or the first 14 days
If you are having cravings try eating a highfat snack that IS on the list of acceptable foods instead. :hug
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      milk sugars?

Does that imply you are using milk or half & half in your coffee?

The caffeine also creates many problems for people.

Review the acceptable foods list, and eliminate the almonds until you reach the nuts rung of OWL

Another thought Carli - have you posted your menus to the 'Review my Menu' forum for some advice and input? Tweaking your menu might help.

As I recall, Carli is drinking latte's, after being advised not to.

Carli, you have some choices here:
You can do Atkins by the book following the Acceptable Foods list and the Rules of Induction. We encourage people to do this because we have pages and pages of success stories from people who have done so, and they've had spectacular results.

          or

You can do the 'Carli Plan', and eat your almonds, milk, and whatever other foods/frankenfoods that you feel in the mood for. This is pretty much a guarantee that you're going to continue having cravings and you won't be facing your food demons and conquering them. You will ultimately quit Atkins because you won't be getting the kinds of weight loss you were hoping for.

Over the last year we've seen many many people come on here and try to do the diet their way, and they either just disappear after a while, or they realize that doing Atkins properly is the way to go, so please don't think I'm being harsh on you, ok? :hug

Or, if you think you just want to do low carb, then I urge you to participate in the Low Carb other than Atkins Forum and I wish you all the best.

Well, Latte does not just have hidden sugars, it has them added on purpose. :yikes

That would definitely feed the cravings.

Glad to hear you're back on track and determined, carli. If you stick to the acceptable foods on the list in the book, drink your water, and exercise, you will see the results. Its difficult at first to give up the carbs, but it truly does become a way of life. Just get through a CLEAN 14 day induction. Wishing you the best!

Carli I diet atkisn the first time with 50% effort I lost 20lbs in a month, this time around I am doing it by the book and I have lost 15 lbs so far and that just 14 days. See the difference? Its not hard to do, you just have to get those dang cravings out of the way, once your over that hump the rest is considered smooth sailing. You get to where you don't want those sugars... I used to hate water and now its all I drink I used to love to drink diet sodas 3 per day but now I think I have had maybe a hlaf of one. This diet changes how you feel about food. We are here for help! ITs best ot read the book cover to cover and then follow it makes it a lot easier for us to help if you run into a problem as well. Good Luck I know you can do it!

You are right Carli - it's not easy for everyone and many people have a few false starts before getting it 'by the book' but go on to become big losers :hug
Congrats on switching to decaf coffee/cream - it does get easier when you get into the swing of it :yes
5 pounds so far is not to be sniffed at!

thanks for your incouragement it means alot i wrote out my plan again today i have a rough ideal of what i will be eating each day. the exercise is no problem since starting the atkins well the carli version of atkins i have felt light and energised and able to run and do long walks and weights session again which i missed because i felt low before.
once you see a little result and people say oh! you lost weight i start to relax a little and feel like the perfect little size that i want to be,

does anyone have any advice for continuing on once people start commenting how good you look? i know it should spere me on!
