  • Day 7 and i feel awful :(

    Im on day 7 of my induction and i feel terrible

    Just have a really upset stomach and feel very tired and weak like im going to be sick sob.
    I really want to keep going but i have a baby who's 11 weeks old and dont want to be trying to take care of him and feeling ill. Can anyone give me any advice on what i should do or eat to get my energy levels back up and to settle my stomach i dont want to give up now but cant go on like this for much longer

      im not sure what my water intake is in oz but im having a 2 litre bottle a day plus the odd glass from the tap i've ate today

      breakfast- 3 rashers of bacon fried with 2 eggs scrambled and cooked in butter

      lunch- tuna salad with mayo

      dinner- steak with mushrooms and 2 pork sausages

      im not a big fan of veg or salad so its very hard to come up with meal ideas i know im not getting the right daily amount of veg but its very difficult to eat them once the gag reflex starts

        2 liters is about 66 ounces. you need to drink about 64oz plus another 8 for ever 10lbs you have to lose.
        well i think you already know your problem, you need more veggies. feeling sick and tired is probably because you're getting next to no carbs at all, and thats just as bad as eating too many. veggies give you your carbs you need for energy, and the fiber and vitamins you need to be healthy. the induction list for veggies is pretty long, there has to be something on there you and a way to prepare it that you will enjoy! try experimenting with new veggies, and cooking them in different ways. you can also puree roasted peppers into sauces to put onto meat so you still get some veggies in. it can be difficult to think outside the box, but you really have to just bite the bullet and do it, and get creative. hiding veggies inside meat is something a lot of people do too, like stuffing a hamburger with spinnach and cheese, etc.

        personally i get torn between easy preperation and taste. its easier to eat plain raw veggies when i dont feel like cooking, but i sacrifice taste and adding fats when i do that. so i usually have lettuce as my only raw veggie, and cook the rest in butter. after almost 7 weeks, its safe to say that i'm sick to death of lettuce. so i try switching it up by eating more peppers or raw jicama in its place. honestly jicama is the best discovery i've made on this eating plan. its so much like an apple or a pear, i just cut big chunks of it and eat it as a snack and im not having to force myself to gag down veggies i'm sick of. another life saver for me was saving the bacon grease from breakfast. then at lunch when i need a salad, just reheat the grease and pour it over your salad. it adds a lot of flavor, the fats you need, and makes it edible without feeling like rabbit food.

          Thanks alot kibskix i'll try some of those suggestions tomorrow and see how i feel i would never have thought of using the bacon grease to flavour salads thats a great idea!!! i'll double my water intake aswell thanks for helping me out your a wee star!!!

                I know its no comfort to you right now but it sounds like it could be induction flu and normally only lasts a few days. Im sure if you keep up with the water, take your vits and try and get those veggies down youll be back to normal real soon.

                  hi emmie its just good to know its not that im doing things wrong!!
                  im a bit worried that im doing something wrong since im a first timer and i dont have the book yet (getting it on thursday pay day yipee )

                  its good to get a little guideance from people who know what your going through thanks for taking the time to let me know about induction flu i thought id read alot on the board but i haven't seen anything about that.

                    i just take a womens one-a-day weight smart as far as multivitamins go. dunno if they have those in the uk but its just a basic once a day multivitamin with a little less iron than a regular one, since i'm getting lots of iron from the meats i eat. i also use flax now and then for fiber and omega acids, but i dont want to get carried away and take a massive amount of vitamins i think i need. i'm anti-pills that way lol

                      Just get a multi-vitamin that doesn't have iron (because we get so much iron from this diet). I actually ended up getting a multi-vitamin meant for men because it was the only one I could find without iron!

                        I take Boots own brand multivitamin without iron they are on special offer 99p for 60. I also take an omega3 fish oil which you can get at poundland for 30 capsules. Im also thinking about getting some coconut oil as ive heard so many good things about it. I googled it today and found that Nutri centres sell it in the uk.
