Wisdom teeth out can't eat

Got my teeth out today. Ate 2 eggs at 600 this morning. Mouth is swolen and can't eat. Will this mess me up what do I do

Could you drink soup (broth) thru a straw? That would get something (legal) into your stomach.

Sorry to hear that you are so swollen - I was lucky when I had mine out - of course very little can stop me from eating when I set my mind to it

i'd bet she isnt allowed to drink through a straw if she has stitches.
when i had my wisdom teeth out i had jello and mashed potatoes (on atkins, maybe mashed broccoli or coliflower) but i was eating normally by day 2.

Drinking through a straw is a bad idea after a tooth extraction even if you don't have stitches. That's a sure-fire way to develop dry socket.

yup, can't have that. also if you do have stitches be sure to clean them every time something goes into your mouth.

broth with some cooked veggies pureed would be ok -- I've had 4 periodontal surgeries - each time I had things that could be blended and drank from a glass or cup. NO STRAWS. If you were on the dairy rung you could have cottage cheese or a low carb yogurt. You could make your own jello from Linda's sight (that way you aren't getting aspartame), drink plenty of water to help heal your mouth. For tonight and tomorrow I'd stick with broth with pureed veggies - give it a couple days and you'll be able to eat more things.

its ok.. thanks for yall advice. finally got some feeling back. Now i am taking loritabs and darvocets.. but im in ketosis REALLY purple havent drank anything all day.. need to.. i just had some broth and tryed jello the atkins kind but i didnt manage to get any down really. To weird of a texture. But i did try some pumpkin it was good.. and since i cant smoke for 3 days and im already down to 2 cigs a day (use to be 1/2 pack) im going to try and quit since i cant anyways.

Hey Ash, the dentist sucks! . Seriously though, Tylenol PM=wonderdrug. But don't take too much cause it thins your blood and depending on how your extraction went, you could begin bleeding again. Darvocet doesn't have a good track record for anything except becoming a habit. And the others are correct, no straws, no cigarettes, or you can get dry socket and then you'll really be in pain! The only way I'd use a straw is by dipping it in a drink, or jello, closing the top with a finger to hold in the contents by way of suction, putting it in your mouth, then take off your finger and let it roll out into your mouth. This, providing you're still numb and can't just drink it from a glass. Otherwise, knock yourself out for the night and hope to wake up feeling better tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon!

yeh my mouth hurts.. They had to take a part of my jaw bone out to get the teeth out. Been taking loritabs and darvocets have to the pain is intence. i havent ate much tryed to get some broc and cheese mash, tuna, jello and pumpkin down today and water but my stomach was so upset i only got a spoonful of each maybe. I am still in ketosis but my appetite is gone.
