  • So. Nauseated.

This is terrible. I know it's the induction flu, and I know it will pass. But is there anything I can take to settle my stomach? The headache I can deal with, but this upset stomach and fatigue is killing me! I will stick with it, because I'm in ketosis and losing weight. But is there anything I can do that won't push my carb intake over or mess up my day's diet?

I've read things about potassium and multivitamins. Which ones do you recommend? Also, if there are any stomach-settling medicines I could take, I'd love to know what works best.

Even if I stay in ketosis, I won't stay nauseated, will I?

(And yes, I'm drinking LOTS of water. 100+ oz.'s a day.)

The nausea should subside along with weakness, headache etc. fairly soon

Ahhh, thank you! So salts should be put in there, perhaps with broth, and supplements? Do you recommend any supplements that won't upset my stomach? I read the boards a bit and heard about this one:

I am also new to induction, I started on April 30th and ugh the nausea feeling is terrible, I don't want to eat because of it, nothing sounds good, but I am soooo thirsty for water so I keep drinking it. Dont get discouraged from what I have read on the boards its worth it!

It goes away. SOmetimes if you are forcing water you can feel nauseated so sip regularly but don't force. You will find your water consumption increasing naturally over the next few weeks if you continue sipping along. Broth may help. I actually feel nauseated by my vitamins some days. Especially the C and multivitamin I take. Potassium may help. Time will help the most.

LOL..I dont mind getting my dates mixed up. For me it usually means I am not dragging my way through it and hoping the days would just pass. Forgetting the days to me mean..."oh, so this is becoming a way of life and its not a burden to be over with Induction".

Hope thread starter and all others who are experiencing the flu get over it soon. Its not a great feeling but it goes. I scheduled my induction to start on a Thursday so I would get the flu on the weekend (that I didnt plan anything for). Sure enough it came and with it also came TOM, and I am a migraine sufferer at that time. So I killed the proverbial 2 birds with one stone. I took some Ibuprofen and another med I cant remember the name of, drank lots of water, and was just really close to my bed that weekend...reading up the ADBB when my eyes would allow me to let some light from my laptop in. Without much fanfare it just went away and I was good to go for work the next week.

I know everybody is not the same, but just rest assured it gets better. You will look back and realize you had to go through it to feel just how great you will be feeling when its all over.

It definitely wasn't a good feeling, but thankfully, I'm feeling MUCH better. Especially since I stepped on the scale this morning and noticed I lost 9 lbs!!! I have been working really hard, so it's nice to see my efforts have not been in vain!
