  • What should I eat before bootcamp?

    Hi! I started induction this past Monday and have already lost 6 pounds! Next Monday, I will begin a fitness bootcamp from 5:30am-6:30am. My fitness level is probably a 4 on a scale of 0-10 with 10 being activie and the camp is pretty intense-walking/running, squats, lunges, etc. I have a 20 minute drive to get there so I can eat something before i head out and I know I won't throw it up from working out. Any suggestions on what I should eat?

    I'll tell you who I would PM, thats ttdriver. She does marathon running and she can tell you what anything you need to know. Just go up to the top right and click on Private Messages and type in her name.
    She has been on this board a very long time and I know she can give you the answers you need.
    Saying that, I believe you don't need to eat anything differently, just stay on plan.

      In my experience and in speaking with trainers over the years, they all advocate eating A LITTLE something before working out in the morning especially if you are working your mucles. You could probably get by with a hard boiled egg or something like that. Not a meal or anything close to that just a little something about 20-1/2 hour before you start working out.

      However, lol not to make it harder, i have heard mixed messages about whether to eat before cardio. Since i can't drink water on an empty stomach else i get nausous (sp?) i need to eat something prior to drinking water so i need to have a bite or two of stuff before doing any work out in the AM.

      All in all, do what makes you feel good and have energy. I commend you on your morning dedication lol. I need to do that. Just as an aside, i have started a Wake Up Sleepy Head Challenge in the exercise forum, which is devoted to people wanting to work on working out in the AM.

        Before my workouts i have one egg or just a little cheese. I then eat RIGHT after i leave the gym. I workout for a few hours and this works for me.
