    hi,

So I did induction the last two weeks- but i cheated a bit. i had some nuts one day. and i had a couple of mich ultra beers on one of the weekends- at a social outing. but i still thought i did good- feel great, and people noticed i lost weight.

i'm 145 lbs. and i'm trying to get to 125.

This week i am doing induction again. I'm going to try harder to not cheat. actually now its kind of easier for me. i'm not craving sweets as much.- i still a little, hoping that will go away soon. and i feel full after meals- before i never felt full and would keep going. lastn ight, i had a salad with grilled chicken and i couldn't even finish it.

Today I had a omelet with cheese and peppers, a three strips of bacon. yum so good.

    Some questions:

    * do people notice differences in sleep? I've been somewhat tired lately. i normally go to sleep at 10, but lately i've been dozing off at 9. But my sleep has been better- like deeper and "out like a light".

*what about the low carb breads? this tortilla bread - says its only 5netcarbs. should i stay clear? i've at them in the past and haven't seen negative effects. but what are your thoughts on the low carb breads/

    Thanks everyone!

    Re: questions

Hi Michelle, I'm on my second week of induction. Do you have the 2002 version of Dr. Atkins book? Breads of any kind are not permitted on Induction weeks, sorry. That was my hardest thing too, not the sweets or the chocolate, just the bread. Now it's not bad at all.
I can't say about the sleep, due to my age (56) I don't sleep that well anyway.
My son is also doing Induction and when he goes out, he drinks diet soda, and trust me, he loves his beer!

My first week on Induction, I was always full. This week, my stomach has growled a few times, like after my long dog walk this morning. I made myself a snack of a bbqed burger (watch out for them, some have carbs in them!) topped with sautéed mushrooms & onions, and cheese then zapped in the microwave to melt the cheese a little. Man, that was great! I'll likely have a pumpkin smoothie for lunch.

So, be strong, keep lots of Atkins foods in the fridge (like celery to top with Salmon Cream cheese, yummy), and you'll have no problem. Good luck girl!

You'll have to check the ingredients. Most low carb breads contain grains. If a food contains ingredients not allowed during Induction (e.g. grains), then it is not 'allowed' and it may have a negative impact on your blood sugar.

Did you check the recipes in the "Induction Recipe Basics" thread? The thread is a sticky in this forum and it has several recipes you can use to make substitutes for sandwich buns or wraps.
