  • New to board induction questions

Hi everyone this is my first day on the board and and on my restart of the 14 day induction. I was on Atkins 10 years ago and I lost over 50 pounds. I kept it off until 4 years ago when I had some deaths in my family and a bad break up. I started binge eating. Well needless to say I gained back the 50 pounds plus another 35. I am now happily married and really want to get back into shape and feel better about myself.

I have Dr. Atkins Age-defying book, but I can't seem to find where I put his low carb diet book ( I recently moved). I just had some questions regarding some acceptable foods and drinks...

    1) Can I still drink my no carb Crystal Light?
    2) Can I eat almonds, olives, or avocados while on induction?
    3) How much exercise is reccomended?
    4) What are cosidered salad vegetables and what are considered only 1 cup vegetables?
    5) Finally, are there any cheeses that are prohibited?

Thank you in advance for all advice and support!

If you visit the 'Atkins Diet FAQ' forum

there are several induction-related threads that will help you get started in the right direction.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I definitely recommend reading the book and joining fitday.com. Print the list of acceptable foods and keep it with you. My mom keeps her book with her at all times. Good luck! You can do it

Re: New to board induction questions

Thank you both for your help. I just didn't want to blow my diet on the first day by eating too much of something. Since I still can't find the book in my house, I'm going to the bookstore today to buy it again.

I wouldn't just print the Acceptable Foods List once. I printed mine four times! One for work, one for the car, one for at home, and one in my purse. That way, I have NO excuse to say "Waaaahhh, but I didn't know!"
