    1oz cheddar cheese

    Snack:
    1 hard boiled egg

    Lunch:
    4oz pork tenderloin

    Snack:
2oz Brie (yummmmmmmmm AND is this type of cheese allowed)

    Hiya Hon

Wow.. firstly gotta say, I love your attitude.. and I had to reply as I too thought of cutting off a limb.. so sounds like we have alot in common

    As for your menu

Why are you just having egg whites.. Have the whole egg.. I love the yolk, and that totally allowed on this diet (remember fat is the key to this diet)
Make sure your turkey strips or bacon (things like that) don't have nitrates in them)
Make sure the can of spinach is just pure spinach and no sugar, citric acids ect..
Plus maybe add a bit more veg on your main meal
Remember you need to eat as close as you can to 20grams of carb. So you need to up your veg intake.. either salad or veg.. but look up the list on this board that shows you how many cups of veg (and what veg) are right...
sorry if you already know this..
Make sure you drink plenty or water as this is very important too.

and yes, brie is allowed. I think the recommendation is 4oz of cheese per day..

    Happy eating.
    xx

Also noteworthy is that this is not a low fat diet, so you can eat whole eggs with the yolks and full fat pork bacon, rather than low fat turkey bacon.

Ohhhh tricky, don't mind if I do eat the whole egg! Ha, anyyyways do you guys count the carbs in meats and eggs? I started FitDay and it says that some of the meat I eat has carbs and of course whole eggs have carbs so do you add that to your 20 carb allowance for the day? Thank you!

Re: New to Atkins and jiggle, help!!!

The question above was answered in another thread... but what I wanted to add is that your percentages during Induction should be approximately 65% fat, 5% carbs and 30% protein.

One of the purposes of Induction is to switch from glucosis to lipolysis/ketosis. To help your body achieve this, your fat to carbohydrates ratio has to be above a certain level. Too much protein, just like too many carbohydrates, can prevent ketosis as excess protein is converted into glucose.

It depends how you cook your meals, but the menu above seems to be a little too low in fat and too high in protein.
