  • Traveling to Europe+Starting Induction=Freakout

I'm leaving for Europe (Italy then Russia) in 2 days and I just started Induction.

Does anyone have advice on how to be super-strict on Induction while traveling?

I'm going to sneak tuna packets on the plane (to gross out all the passengers with the scent) but other than that I can't think of what else to do.

Yes, one more question! Do you count the carbs in eggs and meat as well? I love me some eggs but Miss FitDay says they have carbs so I didn't know if I should add that in my 20g allowance for the day...

Thank you guys and happy carb counting!

Just don't fall for foreign junk food. Read lables. Also, about the eggs and meat, yes, you do count the carbs in all eggs and meat (if there is any to count).

I think your flight, from California to Italy, is something like 15-20 hours, right? You can take canned tuna or chicken, cheese sticks and cheese crackers, canned vegetables... but I'm not sure you'll be allowed to have these in your hand luggage. Call the airline before and ask. Also ask what food will be served during the flight -- you might be able to get something that is Induction-friendly. If there are no "legal" alternatives served, then you'll need to improvise -- sandwiches can be made legal if you ditch the bread, there's usually butter (yes, I ate that alone a few times, as my "snack" ), while the main non-vegetarian meals typically have some "legal" meat.

Drink a lot of water while you're traveling and don't forget to pack your supplements.

          Have a good trip!

I doubt TSA would let those through. Plus, even if they were allowed on, I'm certain there are no can openers on board. (Also, pull top cans would absolutely be prohibited.) Maybe you'd be able to get the tuna/chicken onboard via the fresh-packs they now sell in the grocery stores.

Enjoy Russia. Spent 21 days in Siberia a few years ago. (No, I wasn't imprisoned). Those 21 days changed my life forever. Put everything in perspective...
