  • Starting induction over...kind of?

Okay, so i just read the book and i haven't been doing this the right way apparently. I was going by what my dad said, he claimed to be an "expert".
I mean, i've lost weight, 30+ pounds in a little over a month. I just havent done it by the book, and i wanna try that. I just don't know if a clean induction would work since i've been eating low carb for this whole time. I just really wanna do it right. Right now i'm eating 20 carbs a day but i have a lot of non-induction things, and i wanna do this the right way, i just don't wanna waste my time starting it over the right way if it won't make any difference.
    Thanks everyone!

    congratulations on your losses

Whether doing a 14 day induction period according to the book will lose you more weight is not important in my mind.

What is important is that if you have been including non-induction foods and now want to do OWL you will be at a disadvantage as you will not be starting from the same baseline as Dr Atkins intended.

I would suggest doing a 'clean' induction for the 2 weeks and then move to OWL and start re-adding foods in the order as suggested in DANDR to discover if any foods affect your losing progress while finding your CCLL.

But you probably won't get the initial 'water weight loss' that many new Inductioneers get as you have lost that already you will however be continuing to lose FAT!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

      Thank you!
Yeah i was dissapointed when i found out that i had been doing it all wrong and wouldn't really be able to move on to owl since i had been doing a combination of induction and owl
I started the clean induction today i even printed out the 'safe' foods list
I feel stupid, i should have researched and read the book first. I just figured my dad knew what he was talking about. Oh well.
      Thanks for replying Elizellen!

dont beat yourself up! Low carb works many ways. Since you have been eating low carb this whole time then 2 weeks will be a little easier. Good luck!
