  • Something wrong or just normal?

10 days in and only 8lbs lost.

Maybe my expectations were too high? I was hoping for more like 14lbs by now.
Could I be rushing things? Am I at fault? Possibly. I ate ONE french fry yesterday. I drank a few drinks last week with aspartame in them. I'm beating myself up. I should be happy. 8lbs is 8lbs. I don't have the "burst" of energy and pep that I read about others having. Drinking so much water I am feeling like a fish. Ketosis comes and goes. Keeping my carbs under or right at 20. Not frustrated, just let down and I don't know why. This is a GREAT thing. I haven't been on my depression meds since the start of my journey. Was afraid it would hamper my loss. Haven't taken my thyroid meds either. Maybe I should get back on antidepressants to beat the blahs? I get on the scale in the a.m. and get a TINY boost of joy. Wake up dead tired and can't figure it out. Taking liquid and pill form of B-12. Doesn't seem to work. Anyone go thru the same? Any words of advice or wisdom?
You guys have been a great help to me so far. I'm thinking I'm just jealous of seeing all the others that are induction and have lost 12+ and I'm still in the single digits.
Sorry to be a downer guys..... just sorta blue.

    Much love,

Well I only lost about 5 on Induction. We are all different and all lose at our own pace. In general, you lose up to 10% of your desired weight loss in Induction. You want to lose 45 pounds and you are already down 8. That's more than 15% of the weight you want to lose so you are off to a great start! It took a long time to put the weight on, why do we all think it should come off overnight? Relax. Stay off the scale and only weigh every other week or at least only once a week.

Don't play around with your medication. Always consult a doctor before you change anything. Boy I would never stop taking my thyroid meds.

I know, but in my book it said that depression drugs could lead to weight GAIN and a natural route would be better. In a nutshell. Page 264 lol I'm looking into buying some of the supplements listed there to help. I don't think the Thyroid meds are /were/ have been working. All my thyroid dysfunction "symptoms" are still there. Tired, dry skin, hair falling out, resistant to weight loss, etc. I asked my Dr. to recheck my levels and she says that they are "normal" but I have a gut feeling she is wrong. I am contemplating a second opinion. I've read the Thyroid thread here and have the lists of test other sufferers recommend. I plan to go back to the doc with list in hand!

        Sigh..... wish me luck.

you really should not just stop taking your medication. some side effects can be very dangerous.

I am on anti-depressants (have been since before a I started) I've lost 20lbs and almost 7 inches!
I'd definitely consult a doc about the thyroid meds - either your own or another for a second opinion. Try losing weight first - if you don't lose, then discuss making changes to your meds with your doc

Whatever you do, don't stop taking the thyroid meds! That's super dangerous!

8 pounds in 10 days? Awesome! Thats almost a pound a day, and you really can't ask for much more than that!
