  • Help! I'm stuck (Induction Advice)

So I'm glad to say that I started not eating rice, sugars or bread in March and I haven't and it's hard to live in a household when these things are cooked/bought/ate everyday but I have to say I don't miss it! Anyways, my usual meal consists of salad (romain/ceaser dressing (no sugar 1carb) and proteins. I eat some string cheese low fat.. 1oz, 1c.. I throw in veggies like squash.. and other stuff nothing ever processed the point is that I've been keeping it -20 carbs but IF I do go over it's because of a veggie or something. I want to do induction I CAN do it.. believe me I never thought I could get this far. But I'm STUCK I'm bored can Anyone suggests snacks or something diff I can actually eat and manage making if anyone can throw some info my way I'd really appreciate it

Re: Help! I'm stuck (Induction Advice)

I love to cook so I get creative with what things that I can have on Atkins. I find that I need variety in my meals otherwise I get bored with the same ol' same ol'.
Try an open face eggplant omelet with cheese or jalapeƱos stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. I buy a stuffed salmon from WalMart fish market that is pretty good, but I have only been able to find it at one location. I make my own tarter sauce so I kick it up a few notches. I loveeeee cookbooks so i have invested in a few low carb cookbooks.
I know that it is hard to eat the way I am suppose to at times, especially with a teenage daughter who does not need to watch her weight...but I can remember I was like that at her age also...those were the skinny days. I also do not buy much of anything white to fix in my house, but I do fix my daughter her favorites, I just have to restrain myself.

So you're saying that you want to do sort of proper induction but you're a bit afraid of it?
It is only for 14 days and not very scary at all.

Here is a good webpage to look at

A lot of variation is possible on induction.

Atkins is high fat, so ditch the low fat string cheese.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

I don't snack much, because I don't really get hungry in-between meals due to ketosis. Here are some suggestions for snacks though:

Rolled up sandwich meat (no sugar or other illegal ingredients)
          Celery with cream cheese
          pork rinds
veggies & dip (salad dressing or mayo)
stuffed mushroom caps (I think the recipe in in the never-ending induction recipes thread)
different kinds of cheese (Havarti with jalepeno, etc) - max 4oz cheese/day
