Quick question

  • Quick question

    Ok.. I am pretty sure I am staying within reason of my foods.. but I kind of want to run what I eat on a daily basis with you guys..

    Breakfast..
    2-3 hardboiled eggs.. sometimes 4 ... I want to have like 2 eggs and bacon..but I really cant find a bacon that I trust

    lunch
    2 cups of brocolli
    2 medium sized chicken breasts
    2 tablespoons of ranch that has 2g of carbs and 1g of sugar (might need a suggestion on this)

    snack
    a piece of Kraft naturals 2% string cheese

    dinner
    I will fry up some hamburger or ground sirloin with onion.. then I will toss it in a bowl and add about a half cup of cheddar cheese and some franks red hot and stir it up.. my wife says it smells gross but oh dear lord is it delicious!

    Throughout the day I drink a gallon of water.. sometimes gallon and a half..


    Now I know I cant eat the same thing every day but I am thinking that if I kind of keep this kind of thing going I will be ok..The only thing I kind of worry about is the string cheese and the ranch

    Your menu doesn't look bad. But I bolded the problems. We follow Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition here on ADBB. According to that book, we are allowed to eat 3 cups of vegetables daily. Either 3 cups of the vegetables on the "salad" list OR 2 cups of the "salad" list and 1 cup of the "other" list vegetables. Broccoli is on the "other" list. Therefore, 2 cups of broccoli is too much broccoli, but 2 cups total vegetables is not enough for the entire day.

    The majority of our net carbs must be from vegetables.

    The other problem is the amount of cheese you are eating. We are limited to 3-4 ounces of cheese daily. How many ounces are in 1/2 cup of cheese? you have to look that up and make sure you aren't overeating it. Also each ounce of cheese counts as 1 net carb.

      Well.. I might of overshot the cheddar cheese...I probably should measure it your right.. I just take a pinch or two out to cover the top of the meat..which is in an average sized bowl.. I will definitely measure tonight to see what I use..The string cheese I eat between lunch and dinner is 1 ounce..

      When I was studying up on this diet the vegetable thing confused me alot.. the way it sounds I messed it up! ha ha.. So.. what if I like take take 2 cups of lettuce 1 cup of brocolli and chicken breast and make it a salad for lunch?

        minus the broccli and add a bit of cheese and you got my lunch!! I would save the broccli for dinner this way you are spreading out your veggies. I dont drain off my chick. the fat grease stuff goes with my chick right on to my salad and it makes it's own dressing.
