  • Starting over

So long story short I messed up Sunday. We took a last minute trip to the beach (like really last minute i had time to pack and we were off) and I tried to prepare but it wasn't enough. I did good friday and saturday but come sunday night we were trying to fins some place to eat that was child friendly(which was damn near impossible cause everywhere had bars in it) and all we could find was pizza. I didn't over do it but I did have some pizza. I am out of ketosis and up a pound but I am confident that I can get back to it. So today is day one of my new induction. I decided to measure things exactly and write down everything that goes into my mouth this way at the end of each day I can see how I did and ways I could possible change. I feel like a dummy for messing up but when it was after 9 and I had four hungry kids we couldn't keep driving around anymore. By the way I did good till then cause I packed all my meals but when we were all packed up and leaving the hubby said "ohh by the way I have monday off so we will stay till monday not sunday".

When you take a fall, you just get back up again. One mishap to get you back in check isn't so bad, is it?

Well done on packing your own things up until Sunday!

Every day is a new day....kick butt!

      Re: Starting over

How many days on induction had you completed before the Sunday?

If you got straight back on plan after that pizza then there is no need to restart your first 14 days on induction. so if Saturday was day 6 then Monday is day 8 and so on.

Your losses after the 14 days probably will not be as much as they might have been if Sunday hadn't happened but should give you some idea of what your resistance to weight loss is so you can plan the rest of your Atkins journey.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

If that ever happens again, at least just eat the toppings from the pizza. You can be back on and keep going. Dust yourself off and come on

yesterday was day 14. I have been thinking about it all day( it has been driving me crazy). I think I am going to do the next 6 days (7 counting today) as a clean induction. I know I can do it because up untill sunday I was doing a clean induction. So next Tuesday I will move on up to owl. As for my weight loss I lost 7 pounds in the first week and no more since.

            Hi Theresa,
I suggest that you plan ahead so you don't have to sabotage your induction.
You can carry some individual cheese or some other protein.
I don't know if we are allowed to have the pre packaged Atkins protein bars but I keep on in the car and eat half for an emergency.
Good luck to us. I am in the induction phase as well.
            Hugs,

Next time you're in this situation, eat the toppings as Fat Cat Mama said and challenge your kids to eat the leftover crust

That sounds like a good plan

As you lost about 18% of your total hoped for loss already your metabolic resistance to losses isn't too high, so moving on to OWL once you have firmly restablished your mindset is a sensible idea.

I am absoloutely thrilled that I lost that much as before it took me atleast a month to lose it. I fell like I cheated and I should start over but I don't think that another two week induction would help me so I am just going to do one week so I get that pizza out of my system and get back to where I was before the pizza. I feel good and confident about moving up to owl and this weekend taught me a lesson and next time I pack food I will pack extra just incase. You know I was even so desperate I was trying to find a mcd's for a salad but there was none around! I told the hubby that they really need some fast food places over there it would help out alot.
