Re: an apple a day
There are just too many variables to know how apples affect your weight loss.
I would recommend you to read the book and follow the diet the way Dr. Atkins designed it, not the way you think it should be followed."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

i have read the book i know it states to stay clear of any fruit in induction and the only fruits i should eat otherwise are berries, but i just wondered if anyone knows if it will mean that theres a lower chance i'll loose weight or if i'll actually out on weight.

Re: an apple a day
You said you "just read' that apples are high in carbs and you seemed quite surprised by it, so my understanding was that you thought they are low in carbs and acceptable during Induction, or otherwise you wouldn't have eaten them two days in a row before discovering what their carb count is.Originally posted by kaydyerI've just read that Apples are high in Carbs! for the last two mornings i've had a small Red apple, do you think is going to make much difference to my weight loss??
Not really. Berries can be introduced in OWL Rung 4, but other fruits can be added back as well once you reach OWL Rung 7.Originally posted by kaydyeri have read the book i know it states to stay clear of any fruit in induction and the only fruits i should eat otherwise are berries, but i just wondered if anyone knows if it will mean that theres a lower chance i'll loose weight or if i'll actually out on weight.
Did you read the 2002 edition of DANDR or some other book? If you have DANDR, re-read Chapters 11, 14 and 15 to understand why it's impossible for anyone to say how eating apples affected your weight loss."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: an apple a day
Even when you are allowed to eat apples (rung 7), half of an apple is considered a serving. Apples are known to increase appetite.
If you have been eating fruit, you were not doing Atkins induction and can't count it as such.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Re: an apple a day
Since you have the book, the best things for you to do is to make copies of the Induction Acceptable Foods List and the Rules of Induction. Follow them. And refer to them frequently, so that you won't become confused at what may or may not be eaten. There's alot of information in that book. So that is why I made copies---I even took notes! And I was able to go through my Induction without any major mistakes like eating something that wasn't on the list of Acceptable Foods.
People often mess up because they don't follow Atkins and do their own thing. They are only doing themselves a great disservice.~Megs~
