Re: Breakfast on Induction
I'm with you kaydyer. I have just started eating soup. There are some really good recipes on the never ending induction recipes thread here as well as Linda's website.
I just started having soup this week and so far have had the egg drop soup and creamy broccoli soup...yummy!!!

Re: Breakfast on Induction
How are you cooking the eggs? Did you try, for example, a quiche with veggies instead of omelet or boiled eggs?
For breakfast, you can have anything from the acceptable foods list (Chapter 11, pp. 124-129). Some ideas that don't involve meat or eggs are veggies, cheese, avocado..."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Breakfast on Induction
How about 1 scoop of protrein powder (I use EAS Vanilla) in heavy whipping cream or
1 scoop of protein powder in water chased by 2 tablespoons of olive oil?
Read the labels on protein powders, make sure the carbs are low and use fit day.com to track everything. The protein powder plus heavy wipping cream tastes like a fantastic milk shake. Sometime, although I wouldn't recommend it because of the salmonela thing, I add 1-2 raw eggs to the whipping cream / vanilla flavored protein mix and it tastes just like an egg nog, sans the nutmeg and alcohol. Melted ice cream is also a good comparison. You can adjust the consitency by adjusting the whipping cream content and make a pudding. Remember, use fitday.com and don't go overboard with the calories.

Re: Breakfast on Induction
Regarding the protein powder. If it only contains whey protein isolate, then it is acceptable during Induction. However, if it has whey protein, then wait until OWL to have it.

Anything you like that is on the induction list of foods!!Originally posted by kaydyer View PostWhat can i have for breakfast if i can't stomach eggs or meat in the morning??
You could have soup or leftover "whatever is in the fridge from last night's menus", one member used to frequently have leftover chilli for her breakfast!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Breakfast on Induction
I know what you mean about having a hard time stomaching things in the morning. I happen to be able to get away with quiche - I make a couple on the week-end and that's breakfast for the week.
How about cheese? I can always do cheese
Sauteed mushrooms? or peppers or...
Then have a mid-morning meat/egg snack...Julie__________________F/37/5'2"__________________Start April 15, 2009
