  • Last day of induction ... maybe...

OK, so this is day 14 of induction for me. I was reading some of the FAQ and saw that I should be eating a 65% Fat, 30% protein, and a 5% carb diet. I guess on induction the "less than 20 carbs" is more important than the 5% number. In any case, I went thru my fit day and noticed that I'm usually close to these numbers, but rarely on. Is this going to be a problem for me in the future. By that I mean, do I need to be exact with that in OWL? I'm real bad at figuring out what's in stuff to make those numbers. I guess I'll figure it out in time. Any hints would be appreciated tho.

Also ... I think I blew it last night. OK ... I know I did. We went out for dinner with friends last night. I knew it would be challenging but I had a plan. The had a special of liver and onions ... mmm my favorite. Well ... it's meat and it comes with bacon, should be OK. I had the salad and discarded the yummy croûtons, gave my potato to hubby and chose the onion soup ... it's only onion slices in beef broth, right? Well, I got home and entered it into fit day and just about fell off my chair. OMG!!!
I haven't put on any additional weight as of this morning ... I hope it stays that way.
So ... did I mess it up ...

Liver and onions is one of my favorites too. Make sure you stick to the rules today and drink a ton of water..hopefully it'll offset the splurging of last night.

The percentages are just rough guidelines and there is no magic in them. So don't worry if you're not spot on.

During OWL, your carbohydrates will gradually increase, while your protein should stay at about 30%. So, you won't have 65%, 5%, 30% anymore, but for the first week of OWL Rung 1 maybe something like 62%, 8%, 30% (it's just an example). Most of your calories should still come from fat though.

The nutritional info on FitDay is for an "average" recipe---the soup you ate may have more or less carbs. Never assume something is "legal", because you don't know what recipe a certain restaurant uses. In any case, just keep going and be careful next time.

Are you still in ketosis? If you are not, then you should do a few additional days of Induction, to get back there before moving to OWL.
