Re: I need chocolate!!
Oh yum! I did that the other day for dinner. I made my salad with lettuce, cucumber without the skin because the skin bothers me, tomato, diced ham, hard boiled eggs and a low carb dressing with 1g per two tablespoons, but only using one tablespoon. It was Delicious. Tonight I'm doing the same thing but with boiled chicken instead of ham.

Re: Breakfast possibilities if not bars
honestly not to sound mean but you may just have to suck it up. You can have a salad or any other veggie (on the list). Someone posted a recipe for Elmas srawberry cheesecake that is induction friendly. The mock danish also but it has eggs. I can't think of any "breakfast" things that doesnt have eggs. But like I said you can have a salad or other veggies.Originally posted by kaydyer View Postwhat are you having for breakfast if your not having the bars.... i started off having the bars for breakfast becausing i can't stomach eating eggs or meat at that time of the morning!
I think that you are used to eating junk in the morning and if you give it time you will be able to eat a normal healthy breakfast. Like my husband loves to tell me "It's all in your head".

You can eat left over for breakfast. Like taco salad if you want.
Another idea is to look at the breakfast shake recipe in the extended induction forum. Even people who swear that they never eat eggs tend to like this. Give it a try.

Celery and cream cheese...great traveling breakfast since I don't like to eat till after I get to work.

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

Re: Breakfast possibilities if not bars
I totally know where you are coming from...sometimes eggs are just way too gross in the morning.....BUT, I make myself eat them (and have started to enjoy them) because I see a huge difference in weight loss if I eat eggs in the morning. Weird I know, but it's a true fact for me. That makes them much easier to eat!
I do try to mix it up everyday. Sometimes I just have fried eggs, sometimes scrambled with veggies or salsa, sometimes a mexican mix with guaq and sour cream, sometimes just hard boiled.

Re: Breakfast possibilities if not bars
Stay away from the Atkins bars and shakes because they have non-induction ingredients in them....
There are MIM recipes (muffin in a minute) or a "cheesecake muffin" recipe - like others said you don't HAVE to eat eggs but I find I am satisfied longer when I scramble up a couple and add veggies & meat to them - top with a little bit of cheese (just enough to see and for a taste) - when I eat this breakfast I'm not hungry until just before lunchtime.
Muffin in a Minute
Serving Size: 1
ΒΌ cup flax meal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 packet splenda packet
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 large egg
1 teaspoon butter
Put the dry ingredients in a coffee mug. Or a bowl for a different shape.
Stir.
Then add the egg and the butter. Mix.
Microwave 1 minute (or more). Take out. slice, butter, eat. Set mug to soak immediately.
Cream cheese would go nicely, too.

Re: Breakfast possibilities if not bars
I call these muffins because they are in muffin papers and I can take them on the go - they are delicious
8 oz heavy whipping creamCheesecake Pudding (<3 carbs)
8 oz cream cheese - softened
8 oz sour cream
1/2 cup splenda
1 tsp vanilla
Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set asside
Mix the rest of the ingredients until smooth. Fold in the whipped cream.
This makes 12 servings (divide equally between 12 foil muffin cups or 12 fluted glasses) @ >3 g. carbs per serving.
Good right out of the bowl, very good chilled
You can add a few sliced strawberries or some blackberries or blueberries on top (add the carbs) when you get to the berry rung.Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

So why is eating meat for breakfast something you can't face when you were eating hot sausage rolls?Originally posted by kaydyer View PostI use to have a hot sausage roll in pastry.... bad i know!

If the sausage contains no grains or sugar, then you can certainly have the sausage roll without the pastry.
Ima, that muffin in a minute recipe isn't appropriate for Induction because 1/4 cup of flaxmeal is equal to 4 tablespoons---twice the legal daily limit for flax.

And if you really need something "bready" to go with the sausage, you can make Atkins Revolution Rolls.
I agree with Megs about the 1-minute muffin. Wait until OWL to have it. Also, when you try it, don't freak out if you gain a few pounds (yes, I know you all weigh daily, so you'll notice the gain
) because the recipe has about 5 g of soluble fiber that will absorb water as they move through you. So, if the fiber needs more than a day to reach its "final destination", the scale might not love you next morning.

Re: Breakfast possibilities if not bars
sometimes I like to cook in the morning, and sometimes its the LAST thing I want to do. Lately i've gotten in the habit of making extra dinner, then eating that for breakfast. I actually prefer chicken in the morning over eggs, but i'm weird that way. Also if you get sick of eggs, theres only about a million ways to eat them!
This morning I had scrambled eggs with taco seasoning and roasted red bell peppers. when you get bored, mix it up.F/24/5'10"
