Can anyone explain to me the difference in calculating net carbs vs carbs?

Net carbs = Total carbs - fiber
Fiber is not digested by the body, so those carbs don't count.

Mitzi is right - if the total carbs less the fibre carbs = minus something, it means the fibre carbs have been deducted from the total carbs already (or in the case of a non-USA label, fibre is not counted as being a carb in the first place
)

Hi Mazza, it confuses a lot of UK newbies. Just to confirm, the carb count listed on the labels in the UK is the net carb figure so no need to deduct anything from it
