    Hello!

I thought I would introduce myself. I am not new to the low carb way of life and have practiced it for 3 years now.

I successfully kept the weight off in the maintenance phase and I found it so easy to follow, that it really was how I ate, and I never really gave it much though.

I became pregnant in May of 2004 and I should have stayed lowcarbing, but I guess I used the fact I was pregnant to pig out and stop exercising. Needless to say, I gained a lot of weight.

I had my baby the end of January, and I started back to lowcarbing on February 15th. I was not following induction at the time though.

On March 5th, I weighed myself and I weighed 139. Today I weighed myself, and I weigh 134. So, as you can see, there is not really a significant drop. I am used to at least 8-10 lbs a month weight loss while lowcarbing.

It came to my attention the other day that eating around 30 carbs a day and not really watching what sources they came from was not following atkin's induction like I had done in the past.

So, on Saturday, I began induction again. I stayed on induction about 4-6 months when I lost my weight several years back. Luckily, even with sitting around for 9 months and eating a lot, I never got back to where I was when I initially lost my weight several years ago. I would call that luck!

So I guess my starting date for induction is 4/2/05 starting at 136, currently 134, and intend to get to 115.

It's so good to be back and not eating that nasty crap that I have been eating for so long now.

    Welcome.

I hope you find ADBB helpful to you.

I always remind newbies to read the book and the stickies in this forum and the FAQ forum. I guess in your case, I should just ask you to re-read these things.

Good luck to you on your Atkins.

          Welcome to ha

Looks as if you have a handle on induction but be aware that your body is a totally different one to when you lost weight on Atkins before so don't despair if the weightloss doesnt follow the same pattern as before. :hug

Most people lose between 5% and 10% of their hoped-for loss during the first two weeks on induction so one or two pounds for you would be great and get you into the 'big losers' bracket!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
