  • How much protein is too much?

I've read that too much protein can stall your weight loss. In my research I have read that I should consume 75 gram, another site says 132 grams.
Is it true? Will it stall? and how do I know how to figure out the range I should eat?

My average is somewhere in between those two.
I don't know why too much protein would stall your losses. Some people believe that protein can be converted to glucose (so a carb) at a rate of 58% but it is rather a bit speculative at best. Certainly the Atkins diet does not push a lot of protein. It seems like we should eat about 30% of our calories from protein a day. Today 25% of my calories came from protein and I had 91 gram. On induction I ate more protein than that and I still lost.

So don't get too fixated on all these numbers. Follow the diet recommendation and you will lose just fine.
